What do you prefere: Pop ups or banners?

This is a really hard choice. And the best answer would be neither. But unfortunatly free webhosting sites need to make there money some how.

So i need to make a choice.

Which one would you prefere for my site?

banners by far! pop ups pop up, distrup what u are doing, and on some sites totally take over and u have 20 of them everywhere, atleast with a banner it just sits and u can ignore it, pop's just piss everyone off!

When you have a popup killer, you'd beter use Pop-ups
But when you don't have a Pop-up killer, I prefer a Banner!

Well SHANG, the person who lets me use his isp ftp puts warez on his ftp, and i put mp3's on there, so i dont see why not. Well i will give it ago, anyway

Pop-ups. Just kill them and forget about them... Banners will always be annoying you at the top of the page!

Just a thought... You all promote popup killers, but consider this, if it were not for popups this site would not exist as hosting costs would not be covered by banners which barely have a 0.18% click through ratio.

yeah popups for me too. as long as there aren't too many of em. heh. then it gets really annoying. especially warez sites that have pop ups come up everytime you close one. argh.

Yep, pop ups are a big thing on this site, just one here or there, and if they keep the site going i am sure knowone minds.

Anyway i am pissed as i have been connecting at 9,600 bps, due to a dodgy fone line, which i have just sorted, so i am back on thank god, and running, for a 56k fast. But thanx everyone, pop ups will b my site, with the killer.

One question does the pop up have to open to make money for the site?

I like banners because if you're seeing something they dont interrupt you (Because IE in WinMe and Win2k activates the window that is loading so you have to go back again). Popups are annoying esp. if you are watching a streaming video of a trance event!!!!![/PHP]
