I love everything, trance, house, d&b, you name it. But i remember a time when their was a plethora of badass tracks always coming out. now everything is some rip off and completly sucks! I have been so dissapointed in the music latley that i have started to go back to other kinds of music. I guess i just miss that feeling when you hear a song that just takes you away...you know.
only thing ive heard lately is "darkside of the moon" and it isnt anything that is just breaking the barriers. Am I just not looking in the right places or what?
I agree with you. Lately everything seems to be so derivative. I've been listening to old edm and non-electronic music as well for this very reason.
I like listening to music too
Here we go again.

Techno and trance went through a similar phase between 1995 and 1997, when everyone and their mother was basing their tracks on TB-303 acid lines, many doing it badly. It got totally over used and finally the next great sound came and replaced it (the JP-8000 and the "supersaw lead"). Give it time and we'll see a similar cycle happen. We can't go on with the same old leads and riffs forever. Just be patient. |

Most of it sounds pretty much the same.
The more I listen to EDM, the more I start listening to weirder, and weirder shit.
Oh well.
I still listen to ASOT every week, and sometimes Armin will drop something on there that doesnt sound so generic, but the problem is, alot of it sounds really, really, similiar.
Trance just needs to evolve again.
Yeah trance wasn't golden up until 1998. Meanwhile it lost arpeggiation and complexly interwoven melodies and gained giant wash effects, banal melodies, and general over-the-top bluntneess in order to appeal to more people. Way to go you fucktard.
