How much does a kitten cost?

I'm looking to buy a Norwegian Forest kitten in New York City this summer.

Anyone know what a pure one will cost?

Here's what they look like, btw: http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/norwegian.html

yeah i'll just have to brush it a lot... plus i figure living in new york city there's prolly a grooming place down the block

still no guesses on how much a pure breed kitten would cost?

just be happy with any kitten! save one before it gets gassed instead! I <3 cats soo much.

Good luck finding that special breed kitten...

...it's just in my opinion it's better to save any cat

I love cats.

wouldn't you much rather buy a forest gnome?

you could make him your slave, and it'd only take one beer to get him drunk.

you could buy him a little mini-me scooter and when he gets drunk he could pee in the corner...

wouldn't that be....STRANGE!

your going to be brushing that cat at least 20 minutes a day. advice: dont buy it. rescue a cat from an animal shelter before they put it down.

I'd say 50 to buy a new cat and another 100 for the shots you'll have to give it after you buy it.

Don't forget about food, a litter box, etc.

It's from 2003 but they seem to be quite pricey!

i got the black one back in 1995. he ran away last year, thanks to my mother opening the garage door. he freaked out and ran. the door is loud when it opens.

i had the the orange one since 1997. he's still around. i have yet to have seen a nicer, pleasant, unafraid of anything, nice to strangers, affectionate, and chilled out cat in the world. he is nothing like the stereotypical run and hide, scard of strangers, do its own thing cat. he's a rarity.

if u want that type of cat, give the kitten lots of attention. hold it a lot, and pet it a lot. sleep with it next to you. that's what i did. every night, my cat sleeps right next to my head the entire night, until i wake up, or he wakes me up meowing in my face begging for food.

Took in a relative's pure breed Himalayan who cost $500. Nice cat but a royal pain in the ass to maintain. He gets these terrible knots every day that you have to comb out. Its painful for you and the cat (he bites you). If you dont comb him out for a couple of weeks its just awful. Don't have the money to get him groomed, so I would dissuade anyone from getting a long haired cat.

I'm with TVD; adopt a cat. When I get outta school I'll pick up 2 or 3 of my own.

Anyway, purebred cats are sure to cost a lot because breeders put such care into them. So I'm betting it's well into the hundreds to get your cat, maybe even thousands.

i try to feed the orange one twice a day 1/4 of a cup. but he becomes a pain in the ass following me all over the house meowing repeatedly. and not just short meows. longgg and loud ones, over and over. so i give in and just pour some into his bowl. i dont even measure it anymore.
