How the hell is this going to go down @ Stills?

Posted by buchnaner on Mar-02-2005 02:42:

kewl , though interesting that stillwaters is hosting this

Yea I dunno how Adam got them to agree to it but hell, I won't complain. They had one on Feb 20th and it was pretty sweet. That one was a Sunday and this one will be a Wednesday, so it's a little different crowd.

Hopefully I'll see you guys there.

Talking

Hello everyone,

I hope some of you can make it out for this night, from what I can tell this is going to be a great time. To clear up the question, how or why Stillwaters, all I can say is I got lucky. Its a nice venue and I think that once they expand it will be even better.

Also, if anyone coming to this night wants to drop off a CD containing original work for consideration of the new Local Sounds compilation CD I will be more than happy to take them and look them over. Just make sure to include your name, track list, web address (if available) and contact info (phone number and email address). We will also have a table at the MAMAs and we will take submissions there as well.

Have fun and I hope to see you soon,
-Adam

I plan to head down for a short while. Who is all going to be there from Madison?

Posted by tylerc on Mar-31-2005 00:49:

I'll be there

Posted by mrmsn on Mar-31-2005 17:34:

I was there until 11:00ish, who were the first two djs spinning? It was pretty good. I was sitting by the fish tank drinking martinis with a friend - I should of gone and introduced myself

Would be cool to get a standard night like this, but somewhere a bit more condusive - I wouldnt say StillWaters has the *typical* crowd. I would also comment it is nice to have a night with edm music at a non-dance club.

Thanks for setting it up, hope to see more soon.

The first dj was Adam the Tree and the second one was me. It's definitely a little different crowd, but I kinda like it. Things got a little crazy at around 1:00. Some weird people come out on Wednesday nights....

What got wierd?

i like the Bob Marley mix transition from Adam to you. I thought it might of been you beased on the feel of the tunes.

My apologies for not giving you props.

Anything in the works for the near future?

Well this dude (who was obviously on a combination of lots of mind-altering substances) came in with a skateboard an no shirt. he had a shaved head except for two little devil horn things and had 666 tattooed in huge letters on his chest. he came in and just went nuts dancing. i think people were a little put off by the tattoo and hair at first, but he got everyone dancing. people were jumping all over the place and just goin nuts in general, it was pretty cool. he eventually befriended an obvious frat boy, it was touching...

anywho, i'm glad that transition worked. that track still had like 3 minutes left but we were already running behind and i really wanted to start off with that tune (which was a remix of me and State of Matter's tune 'Silver Sun' done by Ethereal).

The only other show I have coming up (besides the TA meetup) is Party in the Park on April 23rd I belive. Its a big outdoor all day event at James Madison park. I'll post some more details soon. But as far as Stillwater's goes, I think they're trying to make that a monthly thing now, so we'll see.

What's wrong with frat boys?

Posted by tylerc on Mar-31-2005 20:37:

Well in general, nothing. I only mentioned it because it was funny to see two guys from complete opposite ends of the social spectrum dancing together and repeating how "cool" the other one is.
