Smiley DJ Luke Chable as a DJ?

He is coming to Toronto soon, and i was just wondering, can he create some magic behind the decks too?

i was reading a thread of his up and coming mix album with dave seaman, and people said chable cant mix.

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=246502

can others confirm this? im realy looking forward to seeing him.

ide recommend going if hes comming to your home town. Then you can tell us if he can mix or not. Perhaps his trackselection is good enough to overlook mediocre mixing..

Whelp, Dave Seaman and Luke Chable are playing together here in early April, so uhhh...I'll find out if he can mix then

haha, it seems that everybody is on route to see him!

well please do report back when you see him, im very interested to hear your reviews.

the only DJ that i can overlook their mixing, because of their track selection is Oakey...so im not sure if luke is that good, lets see.

he could be like holden in terms of mixing but as long as he makes awesome tunes it'll be great

jjj mixup with him was phenomenal

Posted by muli on Mar-04-2005 06:46:

he is ok, nothing special.

Apparently he has improved a lot since i last saw him, but when i did he was very boring behind the decks. Some ok tunes tho.

Posted by tubby on Mar-06-2005 22:56:

saw chable play on saturday night, and wasn't that impressed. He pitched the tunes very slow, and every track he let play for about a minute too long, enough to get very bored with it.
And he didn't play ride

seen a fair bit of him in the last 3 months or so (being from melburn)
hes on and off atm, still learning the whole dj thingo.
so yeah he can be real good - after Lucien Foort last boxing day, he fukin creamed it, probably because lucien tends to get a joint rockin pretty quickly for a prog dj -

but yeah he still has the off days as well.

if he hits it, he'll instantly be one of your favs, if he doesnt, well, understand hes still learning.

he aint too bad, last time i saw him (about 6 weeks ago). he has imporved heaps, and he plays some wicked stuff

why the hell would he play ride now?

check his latest offering "tokyo", unbelievable!

Very very poor! have seen him twice here in Sydney and wasnt impressed whatsoever. 'All over the place' is the best phrase I can use to describe his djing. His productions might be one thing, but he alot to learn about using a mixer.

Posted by Orko on Mar-07-2005 14:49:

thanks everybody!

it seems that all the comments are pretty consistant.

i guess ill just have to check him out and see for myself.

ill post a review once i have seen him

I havent seen him but heard some recordings and his recorded gigs are pretty much lacks energy and
has that distinct pro tools feeling.
Great if you are gonna do some boring office work and you need something sounding in the background tho.

he's making an appearence at tangled in manchester next month some time, to be honest, i wont expect much from his mixin, but im hopin the tunes will be good

Posted by zshev on Mar-07-2005 22:59:

From 2 yrs ago to now.. His improved heaps! He might not be the best.. but anyway his new track that he just wrote with Danny Bonicci is crazy!
