why do u guys hate dance music?

all u do is bash cheese pop trance and listen to electronic boring non danceable and memorable and hummable tunes.

easily forgetable tunes. no dance elements or qulaity to them

why no listen to MOS and FUSIOn station or DI FM and some other dance stations that has good happy tunes and danceable ones.

u know that if your gonna dj for peeps these are the types of tunes they want to hear not nameless crap that is boring

Just because some people here don't like your type of music doesn't mean you have to agree with them.

Actually, this is exactly the type of stuff trainspotters want a DJ to play. They love a good I.D. challenge, and they're usually too engrossed in the spinning labels to have time to move their feet.

some of us like music for listening too, not only for dancing.

What are you on about? Make up your mind.

If it's 'boring' then why is it memorable? If it is 'hummable' how is not 'danceable'? (Edit: You probably wanted to stretch that 'not' across all of those... however, that music must be pretty shit if nobody dances to it, remembers it, or ever cares to hum or sing along)

Your descriptions are weak at best.

You obviously have a very limited knowledge of trance genre.

I disagree with you.

Here is why.

There is a difference between preference and cheese imo. You can choice to listen to quality trance or quality prog. But the difference is not in the sustance of the music but rather the genre. However, the choice to listen to cheese is one of musical sustance rather than of genre.

There is Cheese Trance. There is Cheese Techno. There is Cheese Prog.

The problem with cheese tunes is not that they are good, dancable, and popular but rather lack the creativity and emotion which good dance music tracks have. Cheese tracks don't song fresh or new. It sounds recycled. Old. And eventually boring. IT drives people nuts how lame people can be that actually like this un-artistic shit.

For example,

If you live in america you probally know about all the 'reality' shows. the first couple were new and refreshing change to TV viewing.

But what happened was that all the other TV channels saw this forumla was succesfull and copied it. Within a few years all the TV channels at least 2 reality tv shows. All these shows were cheese, by my defintion. Acutally the level of cheese has increased recently. People watch that shit but its soo fuckin cheesey.

Here is a better example:

Flannel and jeans.

So 90's and yes sooo cheesy.

Here is a better example:

Remeber when mainstream RAP was 'hard-core'.Like early 90's. All the rappers where rapping about real issues and were real gansters. White people really weren't listening to it becuase of the whole progressive movement in Rock. From 2000 to present mainstream RAP has gotten cheesy. It has copied the exact sound forumla of 90's rap but without all the real issues.

Here is a better example:

Abercrombie and Fitch was a cool clothing brand back in the mid 90's. It got cheesy when its styles became boring and bland. It was copying rather than innovating. Everyone knows about this brand and alot of poeple where there shit but its cheesy.

Here is a better example:

White people that listen to rap. Remeber when that was bad-ass. It so cheesy now. Once again because its true meaning and ideas have been diluted because everyone copied trying to be 'bad-ass' white kid.

Back to trance music now....

Classic Example is DJ Sammy. All his leads, basslines, etc sounds the same. Its an old sound and doesn't stand the test of time. This is the defintion of cheese.

Another more recent example. ASOT. 95% of the songs on this radio station are cheese. why? because if you listen to the station all the artists sound the same. All the songs have that same 'europhic' feeling but in a 'not -new -way'. It sounds old and dated. But worse it sounds copied or recycled. The same can be said for what once was GDJB. Remeber that stupid 'bouncy-ball' sound. Had all those bleeps and beats. It was new at first. I actually liked it but than got cheesy fast.

There is an intersting article in this months REMIX mag with Deep Dish. In the interview Deep Dish said they try NOT to recyle their tunes or the sound they have. They try to do things different each time around.

When I read this it clearly addressed why Deep Dish can not be considered cheese and or what it means not to be cheese.

Hopefully I made the idea of what cheese is more understandable. Cheese is holding on to the past. It is not being artist. It is not being new.

Dance Music historically and going forward is about the new and moving forward. It's not about the cheese.

I forgot one more thing.

Remeber when Americans were wearing american flags and american flag pins.

That was ok during 9/11 and the war but if you are still doing that you are sooo fuckin cheesy!!!

Classic Example:

FOX

You seem like a shallow person, not really knowledgable of the genre. Maybe you should listen up for a little while or explan yourself better, you make very little sense.
