Trance and House IMO is the culmination of all the different genres that are out there. From rock, to rap, to folk, to country...
all those genres may be good in their own way, but trance and house remain good in Every way

biased? yea I know.

I gotta admit, over the years I went through alotta different genres. I went through this huge Rap phase (2pac was my mentor....... no really... he was) then I got into Rock... then heavy rock.... then death metal....(Cradle of Filth, Vison of Disorder... the kind of music that made bleeding seem cool.... ... not that I ever went that far.... )

but after all of that, what it really boils down to is what simply sounds good. and trance/house is the one genre that seems to appeal to people across a whole range of backgrounds.

yea actually back in Kuwait rap/hip hop was pretty much the only thing playing on the radio, and selling at the stores..... unless u wanted arabic music.....

what I do find really surprising is the large community of Indian's that are so ridiculously obsessed with the hip hop phenomenon....

and martovsky...back in abu dhabi we had everythign on the radio, and hiphop was jsut another genre...i actually got my head start on electronica cos of one of the radio djs who would play even more than usual electronica jsut cos of me....

thats Bartovsky...
yea we had the odd "billboard top 50 chart" song playing but mostly it was hip hop, and alotta the kuwaiti kids there were heavily into it. The only reason I actually started listeining to other stuff like rock was becasue I was in a british school and alotta the people I knew were irish or welsh or whatever- really into their brti pop, their Oasis and Blur.... good music no doubt

my first introduction into the world of "electronica" was Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You

amazing track.

ya ive REALLY been listening to alot. i dont think i missed anything out. and still i started to go out to the guv since age 17 (now 19) so i dont think that i missed anything much. trance still lives. its all good. i dont regret anything

ive still expanded the genres that i listen to tho. all of edm, like trance, technno, house, psy, and prog. and thats ENUF for me

Posted by TheVrk on Mar-04-2005 03:58:

I gotta say that house and prog both do it for me as well

oh u dont like that stuff ei?

ya Vrk i have over 100 gbs of just edm so i got lots of old stuff too, as in 1999 (but no earlier).
i recently downloaded the first essential mix like from 1993 or something. prrty cool

Posted by LittlePoonzgirl on Mar-04-2005 04:27:

It's so funny how I've always loved trance but for the longest time didn't know what it was. When I've had a really bad day (like today) a good trance song or two is the best medicine

Posted by djbruuen on Mar-04-2005 05:45:

nothing brings me up like a good trance song...(usually on those bad days, i like the more emotional string/synth type of songs) great stuff to make the day go by better...when i just want to feel up beat and stuff, put on some nice funky house, when i feel agressive, stick on some techno, and layed back drive home, some prog, and to fall asleep, ambient,

music controls the moods
