Why do these artists come up with 50 different names? For example, Darren Tate...

DT8 Project
Jurgen Vries
Oxygen
Orion

The list goes on and on. Why? It's hard to figure out who people are if you don't have a trained ear for their Scheise.

some use aliases to hide some productions...

check out dfm/system f for example

some use it for a different stlye, or something to make some money. i cant really think of many others....

Oxygen is Ricky Simmonds and Stephen Jones, not Darren Tate. However Darren Tate collaborator Andrea Britton provides vocals on "Am I On Your Mind?" so I guess it's an easy mistake to make.

yep, also it deals with some record labels too.

i.e. Rico Soarez on Electronic Elements but Probspot for Lost Language, i remember reading something about this..

darren tate may be offered a contract by Data Records so he would sign it as DT8 and then he could be offered one by serious records and sign that as Jurgen Vries as long as he doesnt sign it as Darren Tate he can produce for any label he likes.

Artists will produce under a different name for many different reasons one might just be creativity. For example look at Ferry, he has lots of projects the most famous ones being the System F and Ferry Corsten projects. With FC he records lots of vocal tracks with alot of electro and guitar inspired thing in them whereas the SF proejct is alot more trance influenced.

So are Gouryella, Albion and Sidewinder. I never said anything bad about them it's just that FC and SF are the two most famous ones.
