Uhm...I honestly don't see anything wrong with the pulling the chair away.

Guys a ****** though

Posted by mr. poopyhead on Mar-05-2005 05:30:

kids are such stupid pricks these days...

OOOHHH.. i'm so bad and rebellious! oooooh!

rebellion against a reasonable request just to prove that you're a some kind of free-thinking non conformist is stupid...

Posted by Matt Jay on Mar-05-2005 08:29:

What the hell is wrong with that?

They're the kind of lame arseholes that should be beaten with a stick.

Teachers have no power these days

oh and indymedia.org.....

Posted by Pjotr G on Mar-05-2005 09:30:

what a cry baby

"you seriously pull my chair from underneath me?"

he acts like he fell and broke his spine. He's just a punk and I hope he gets banned from schools worldwide so he can serve me a rebellious big mac.

What's wrong with standing for the national anthem. I never enjoyed it, but I did it anyway. And why was the kid crying over having the chair pulled from out under him, the teacher didn't even physically touch him. What a pussy.

Posted by josh4 on Mar-06-2005 01:06:

I remember this shit. There was a court order or case or something saying you can't make kids stand for the national anthem. They're allowed to sit quietly and not cause a disturbance. So of course you got these punk kids that were taking advantage of the situation to cause problems.

Exactly, disrespectful bastard kid.

I can' t see anything wrong with this at all... The teacher never touches the guy, he just take sthe chair away.

"The school suspended one student for filming the incident, but has yet to punish the teacher"

Punish the teacher for what? Kids these days have no respect for authorities, and this shows very well in this clip. I bet he sues the damn teacher for touching his chair. Americans...

he was clearly sitting quietly and not causing a disturbance. but hey, i prefer a pseudo-patriot to a "punk kid" anyday!

Posted by kanadianiceman on Mar-23-2005 02:02:

there still is a thing called respect

and kids these days are having less and less of it.

where to draw the line is the question

Posted by Lateralus on Mar-23-2005 06:11:

I dont see a problem, if the kid doesnt want to stand, then he doesnt have to fucking stand. I dont stand for the anthem, and dont care if its disrespectful or whatever, i dont really agree with the direction this country is moving in.

Posted by N|te-L|fe on Mar-24-2005 00:09:

Wow What a drama, poor kid

he's just an undeducated punk and clearly overreacted

oh and nice ceiling

Posted by razerscutpeople on Mar-24-2005 00:45:

dude, what the hell is wrong with you people, he didnt do anything wrong he was just sitting there, and that bullshit about respect, wtf, the teacher should respect his wishes not to say the anthem! respect has to work both wayz, you cant respect someone if they dont respect you. i think the kids had every right to film it, i think he over reacted but i prolly would have walked out too...that teachers a prick.

Posted by stamper on Mar-24-2005 03:12:

LOL the teacher is the wank...

good work by the kid i say.

Posted by Blik on Mar-24-2005 15:22:

I don't see the point in listening to the national anthem every morning...

Suppose I just be echoing what other (non-armerican) people have said really, but I really don't understand why someone should be forced to stand for the national anthem of any country. Sure you could interpret not standing as some kind of insult, but what the hell happened to free speech, are you not allowed to dislike your country in America? I mean, I have no love for this country and I can imagine kids in America who don't fit in with the system not having any love for theirs either

Posted by Cosmopolitan82 on Mar-29-2005 00:25:

If sitting during a national anthem is disrespectful... the teacher isnt helping his case by yelling while its still playing. At least wait until its finished to discipline.

It's school though, it's not a matter of free speech but discipline. The teacher is authority, what he says...goes.

I could decide not to do math and claim that i'm exercising my 'rights' because I dislike it

imho anyway.

no, not at all. when the teacher invades on the student's rights then he has no authority. (e.g. sexual harassment)

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Mar-30-2005 01:31:

That video represents everything that is fucking going wrong with this country.

This generation will not build a stronger America if patriotism is fucking crammed down your throat at a high decibel level. That teacher is a fucking tosser and I would have seriously hurt him had he even touched me in that instance.

When you start commanding people to do things, you are no longer in a "teaching" position, so I see nowhere that "respect" has a damn thing to do with this. Blind respect is not what America was built upon - you want that discipline for your child, you send them to a private Military school. Keep that shit out of Public Schools.

I don't believe that the teacher should be punished for what he did, because he really didn't touch the kid, but they shouldn't be suspending anyone either. I fear that nobody is going to learn a goddamn thing from this and all it will establish is harsh feelings in an environment that is meant for learning - I doubt that teacher will reach many of those other students in that class again, if he ever did in the first place.

Students should not be forced to stand for the pledge, it must be by choice or you get even more irreverent people. You think that kid who walked out is going to give a damn about his country now? Fucking United States, land of hypocrisy and raving patriots - where did America go?

Posted by staticblue on Mar-30-2005 06:23:

thas was kinda fucked up indeed.

you should have the right to sit in a class. fuck the national anthems. only anthem i would stand up to is a world anthem.
