is this party legit????

Posted by twilochik on Nov-12-2001 00:37:

Well, Paul's website has him scheduled for Tokyo that day and manila the next. So I doubt this is a legit party unless PvD just isnt gonna be there...but wouldnt that be strange a record release party and the DJ not there...something sounds amiss.

its probably phony advertising, some guy will probably just play his CD.. heh.. smart

Satan (eek!) PVD

Well they don't mention PVd being there so there is no reason to think that he will spin. I remeber seeing a flyer promoting rui da silva or one of those artists performing in exit and SF the same night. Which one had the fake? Or maybe both?

Paul already had a Politics of Listening party a few wks ago in Alphabet City. It was an industry/press invite only party. He didn't spin. Twirl also had a listening party...they just played his cd.

My friend from Long Island was telling me he had tickets for this. He thought he was so cool and might have tryed to make me jealous. I had to convince the kid that those tickets were worthless.

i've heard of people playing at two different venues in one nite... so it's not that strange i don't think..

however, the release party for PvD with some OTHER DJs spinning in the MAIN ROOM is kinda strange... if it's his release party, i would assume that he would spin in the MAIN ROOM of a club. no?

hahahaha....in my opinion its sillie to even have a listening party if the dj behind what ur listening to isnt gonna be there. Why pay good money to hear a cd being played...a cd most of us have had for a long time now. Maybe they go for the "atmosphere".

Listening parties are weak unless the actual DJ is in attendance chilling. Nov 15th I'll be Centrofly for Carl fucking Cox!
