You gotta be kidding me!!?? I thought this was a joke at first - Samantha Fox on this forum?? Anyway, I downloaded it purely for comedy value and I must admit it didnt disappoint!! You havent really done much to the original apart from add some atmosphere and a few synths, drums etc.
All I can say is this tune is from the 80's and it definatley should have stayed there!
If you are going to post more 80's remixes please dont waste my downloading/ listening time with something like 'Its a Mystery' by Toyah etc!!!!!

Oh, and as for labelling it 'progressive house' - give me a break!!!

its my first time producing a progressive and tad housey (id call it housey by the structure)

I have a link to a track I made a while back in my sig .. you can check that out as well..

and this is the first reel of this song.... just wanted to see a first reaction .. i guess i got a nice one from you

Posted by jcosgrove on Mar-07-2005 09:51:

i love the 80's so i think this works well, really loving that 80's mix you did too.

I think you could've added something extra to this remix though it gets a bit boring.

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Mar-07-2005 09:56:

it does get a bit monotnous doesnt it.. ill see what i can do.. i think the bass needs to be more pronounced as well and the build ups need some ZA to get them going maybe?

i really think you could make it work...i like some of the ideas, like how you bring the vocal in but overall its a tad boring...i'd definitely be up for hearing a re vamped version.

Hi again - ok, I apologise for my harsh comments - obviously there IS a market for this sort of thing - its just that I really dont think its here.I wouldnt associate it with 'Trance' and was just shocked when I downloaded it. I have started spending a fair amount of time listening to producers and their new tracks and yours sounds nothing like I would expect to find on here - but thats just my opinion.Overall I think that yes, maybe your mix has some potential, but think you would get more positive feedback if you post it on 80'S RevivalAddict Forum (there probably is one!!)

sucks to get a track slaugtered after spending god knows how many hours on it

yea, well to be honest, this isn't my cup of tea, but it's definately a valient effort (never heard the original) watch teh cutoffs on your synths and the EQ specturm, the highs seem to be subdued a lot (maybe it's bad bitrate? i didn't check)

good luck with future productions

ok i added some more stuff to the song.. and took away the noise from the vocals and deepened the bass.

looking for some more feedback..

ok lol updated to version 3.0.. all links are 3.0 now

Well, I don't normally listen to proggresive house. Acctually, normaly I hate it. But this is not bad, really ;D I don't really understand the flaming you got about it from ... whoever it was. Though, I guess it would be better to make a House-remix. It's not really a remix, it's more of a mix between two different songs, get me :S But hey, it works fine.

Posted by gorex on Apr-27-2005 18:06:

forget the blaming dude,

you did a good job on this. I would have loved more background effects but overall its well done.

Posted by sooper on Apr-28-2005 02:32:

Hey man,

I love what you've done. It's simple yet funky. You've definately got the right idea! I hope you do a lil more in this style.

What do you use to produce?

Keep well,
Trevor

so comes forth some good crits.. i was going for a saeed and palash feel to this.. wanted to mellow out hte song..s ince its a very slow song to begin with didnt want it to be too crazy so i thought this would work well.. yeah its a bit dull i think thats true but its been totally reconstructed (except for the vocal loops)

trevor to answer your question.. i try to produce trance mainly.. this was a nice side project i tried out and decided to spend alot of time on thanks to the_broad for getting me into this song haha

butyou can see in my sig my trance productin.. (im still a bit of a n00b though)

oops.. sorry, what I meant was, what software/hardware to you use to produce? (just curious cause i like your sounds & samples!)

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Apr-28-2005 13:27:

for this it was mainly reason 2.5, acid 4.0 and sound forge

i don't have any problem with the track being posted here. he's developing his production skills and asked for feedback. this is 'amateur music producers' forum, so a little constructive criticism wouldn't hurt and may eventually lead to some crazy trance track being produced.

sides, i've seen people post many types of productions here. one 80's remix amongst hundreds isn't going to hurt anybody.

and shame on you for not knowing that this was an 80's track

This sounds pretty cool, I like it! The track lacks some high frequencies, you should eq it a bit, but apart from that it sounds great.
