Heat Nightclub

I just did a quick search and noticed that no one has mentioned anything about Heat Nightclub, at Crown Casino, closing down.....?!

Does anyone have any insider news and knows WHY the place is actually having their license revoked??? The media has hyped up gangland violence, but that happened once, about 24 years ago.. big deal..

I'm gonna miss those Sunday nights.

i dont care about heat.

never have, never will.

it kept the scum/rejects from other clubs out of the decent places...so be ready for some wastage to filter out in certain clubs

music sucked..ppl sucked

Posted by Dupz on Mar-08-2005 13:54:

yeah anyway.. do you know why it's closing down mate?

Posted by eRRaTiK on Mar-08-2005 14:12:

maybe because it was infected with crap music and dodgy melb folk

oh wait. i just repeated what nick said.

oh well.

at least it's not closing down for the same reason that Salt closed down (i hope).

Posted by Dupz on Mar-08-2005 14:19:

Salt was offically closed down because "there wasnt enough carparks" plus about 13 stabbings on the side..

Heat plays some decent tracks in the main room after 1am (on a sunday anyway) Not so much house shit, but a bit of harder stuff. It goes alright. I dont know so many people knock it. There's never any fights there either. I spose you do get the odd dickhead who only goes there because Heat's the biggest club in Melbourne (arguable point, i know) and these blokes give the joint a bad name.. but the tracks arnt too bad later on in the night.. AND the place has the best sound setup in Melbourne... that's undisputable.

The place has got to be making money.. the only renovated the place 6 months ago.. So its not bankruptcy that's closing them.. I'm stumped..

First of all, by no measure is heat the biggest club in melbourne.
Secondly, stating that it has the best sound setup, 'undisputable' is a big claim to make.
Thirdly, you won't get much support for the tracks they play here.

Anyway, I heard it was closed cause crown managment didn't like the crowd it draws in, cause they distract from the gambling, go onto the floor, make lots of noise, but not put money in the hole.

notice how little (or how few) article of clothing those chicks going to heat always wears?

i could swear half of them are jailbaits.

A chaotic brawl erupted outside the venue in August 2003 involving a large crowd of patrons and up to 50 security guards.

i used to work there about 3 years ago just bussing and doing bar work, and i can tell you i hated every single moment of it.. the best part of the night was seeing when the bouncers dragged some smartarse ****** out he back and we got to watch him being worked over... As sick as that sounds, it was a horrible place.. with horrible people coming in, and horrible music.. It could be a multitude of reasons as to why its closing down... the problem is though.. its in an awesome location and would make an AWESOME club if run properly...

Evil1

As 'horrible' as you say it is, it was one of the most successful club nights in Melbourne ; Why was the crowd sh.it? Because it was infested with muzzarinos/giuessepinas? Big deal, we are all human. Any crowd that doesnt attract 'fluffies' is 'half' decent. I've noticed that many trance lovers are extremely cynical, with respect to a genre/scene out side of theirs, to the point of farcicality. To others, your scene may be the 'tip'.

Diversity makes the world have its balance.

KFC certainly have their target market down to a T : They need to accommodate for all the 'heavvies' that need a good protein fix after a night of muzza chops and helicopter moves. (Heat & Zos)
