Where are you partying this weekend?

A friend and I will be visiting NYC for the first time Thurs-Sun. I've been trying to figure out what clubs to hit. We'll be staying on Madison Ave. near 29th.

So far Avalon is looking alright. Spirit looks ok too. Crobar kinda looks like one of those huge mega-clubs that has one little room for electronic music and the rest is all hip-hop.

Any advice for a visiting TA?

nope u got it all wrong. Crobar's main room IS for EDM. Spirit is awesome and Avalon is the shitty club that seems to get all djs. lols. hit up Crobar for Hernan Cattaneo this Friday i heard hes really good.

Crobar's main dancefloor has a capacity of 3,250 I think.

What is Spirit like? I can't find many reviews or references to it..

Spirit is ok. Its not that huge of a place, although the sound is very good. Alot of drunk and rolling FOB's in there. The vibe in there is mediocre.

So I think we're going to try and do Spirit on Friday and Crobar on Saturday.

Another question -- what's appropriate club attire in NYC? In Toronto I usually do jeans + t-shirt at Trance events.. Will that work or should we be going for something fancier?

As long as you look neat, jeans and a t-shirt will not be a problem. Nice sneakers like Pumas or Diesels are fine anywhere, especially Spirit and stuff. Just look clean and don't make a ruckus.

but if you're looking for a less crazy alternative to the big clubs on Friday, I'll be playing along side DJ Serge at Lemon on Park Ave and 19th. We'll be playing house of all kinds. Lots of cute girls, real cool crowd. Just throwing it out there.

I'm all about supporting the smaller places. I actually go to a small lounge most Thursdays to support a local DJ.

If we're in more of a chill mood instead of a dancing/partying one, we'll certainly check it out.
