Question Does anyone feel Synaesthesia the way I do?

Ever since I heard The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (En Motion mix), I've always regarded it as a very special track. I realise that it doesnt take a virtuoso to filter something in and out, but there's just something about the way Steve does it that makes this track so unique.
The beautiful synth coupled with the flawless filtering always gives me this wonderful feeling, it's hard to explain exactly what it is.

But I recently asked a few of my friends WHY they liked synaesthesia and they basically said/implied "it has a cool melody".
I think too many people are just dismissing this track as just another cool trance track. I believe it is much more than that. Doesn't anyone 'feel' this track like I do?

Hehe, so did I. Read a very interesting article about it www.wired.com. Can't seem to find it now though. In the article, scientists argued that Synaesthesia helps people to solve logical problems. One example was a professional musician who got sensations of taste in her mouth when listening to music (or sounds really). She used that when composing here own stuff, but also when she was playing other compositions.

I've always liked it, but I've heard tracks with a similar production technique that are better IMO.

I never thought the track was more than average. I prefer trance with great vocals.

I feel you on this Peter. As old as this track is now, there is just something it does to me everytime I hear it that no other track does. As if the chords strike me just a certain way.

Its an odd one.

it sounds so weak and uncomplete like there could be more added to it yet it sounds so full and shouldnt be added to.

Agree with u, peter! it's a great track. it was my favourite track when it came out.

I love the brilliant little hook in it- not the main melody but the secondary one. It really does lift the track from just another anthem into a truly great track.

I love it today as much as the first time I heard it - and I can't say that for many tracks.

I think I do.
I can't describe the feeling, it's simply very pleasant.
But yeah, that track is special compared to most other trance tracks.

i really love this track too. its just got somethign special too it.

Drunk

this is basically my favorite track(trance that is )

I also thought you meant feeling synaesthesia itself. I really like the track and many of the remixes but it's not particularly life changing or anything I just like it.

Try closing your eyes while listening to it. And preferably try this at night time.

one of Steve Helstrip's best works...he hasn't been able to match the beauty or even simplicity of this track thus far.

I never played it too much, but I must admit it has a rather unique atmosphere created by that simple synth hook. Seems he was thinking about more then just a catchy melody, but an entire ambience and sound to the track. Maybe not, but thats what I get from it.

actually it's not correct he made a track called castaway before synaesthesia which is way better and i know many would agree if they compareed them two.

All about the PvD remix in my opinion. En Motion mix is quality, but a little rough around the edges. In general though, Synaethesia's a nice track but nothing special for me. Wouldn't make my top 100.
