VERY PISSED about Armin not playing on the main stage @ Ultra!!
I don't know if anyone knew this, I sure as hell didn't and was hoping that he'd be staged main...I am very pissed because now I'm sure it's going to interfere with a big performance like Tisto or PvD...these assholes must not know who Armin is...this sucks. But good news is Edgar V on the main stage!! wooot. I don't know how accurate this info is though.

this is due to the fact that it is his first time out @ ultra. First timers have to start somewhere.
give it some time next year he will be there.
that or turn 21 soon and see him at his label party.

HeH.. well to help you out, yeah there's like a couple of threads with this line ups and stages...
My conclusion of the why Armin van Buuren was not posted on the Main Stage... there's plenty of reasons actually.
1-) It is true that Armin is perhaps one of the more afluent trance DJ's in the world, and as well producers.. he somehow is not as known down here in South Florida, in other words, he's not so much in deman .. most of the people know more about PvD, Ferry, Tiesto, Mauro etc etc.. this is Armin's First time in Ultra Fest ( and perhaps the first big event in the America's ) .. Armin does recieve a NICE intro in the new Ultra Flyer, which makes u think of the why was he placed there instead of Mainstage... Ultra claims this is the time for Armin to showcase and introduce himself into the trance loyalists of the US and FL and be known .. so he better get those energy socks in.
2-) Ferry was on Ultra stage last year as well.. crowd seemed to liked him, so my guess is that this year round he's doing Mainstage.. everyone else on the Mainstage has been there allready, except for Nu-nrg.... which Ampitheater is good for a Live act like that..
I love Armin, but Ultra Soundstage is mad sweet as well, Sasha & Digweed did that 2 years in a row ( and this are BIG TIME names ) .. and packed the place..
3-) I know Skribbles and Kevens are like WTF artist on Ampitheater, but this is an American EDM festival, and, yeah.. we seem to be on the quality bubble of EDM, the rest of US knows this Dj's, are very mainstream, or atract the other sides of EDM.. who knows, but hopefully armin will play out on Ampi next year...
IM also very pleased to see EdgarV back into Ultra Mainstage.. I havent seen him there since Ultra 3.. when he opened up for Oakey.. God Edgar Threw some nasty Hard trance.. he actually packed the place for Oakey I remember .. good memories!
i was informed of that too......the fluffmaster gets no respect in miami or from ultra. at least they asked him to play this year.
oh well, im skipping the short set ravefest for picottos mind control

To be honest, im still debating on going to ultra and listening to 45 min sets, too much into too little, Im already going to see armin and markus back to back which I heard sets will be like 2 1/2 to 3 hrs a DJ, sooooooooooooooo who knows about ultra
Theres too much talent for one day. Ultra should be 2 days (48 hours strait!) with fewer stages.

| Originally posted by kiteless Not sure why people keep saying this...PVD, Armin, and the other big names will play for at least an hour and a half, Tiesto is two hours, and Cox and Danny are three hours. Yes I'd love longer sets too, but 1.5 hours is way more than 45 minutes. |

mmmm well it's all about taste I guess. There's a difference on attending a Club to an outdoor event. DJ's tend to play differently as well... I usually love the Outdoor events atmosphere, and thats probably why people tend to attend this, is not so much about HOW long a DJ plays. Ofcourse is always sweet to hear a DJ play for a # of hours, but for that you can go to a club.. this is a Festival with a Marathong of DJ's.. look @ around the world festivals.. thye are all about the same.. perhaps difference is that they tend to end later.. but they too have a marathong of DJ"s with Shorter sets.. the sets @ Ultra are usually 1 hour.. sometimes 1:30 mins.. Tiesto will be given 2 hours ..... and I dont think is about age either.. an Outdoor event is unique for what it is, the vibe and everything that makes it.. partying outside is a whole different thing then partyig inside in a crambed packed atmosphere. People complain the lack more DJ's in the line up.. others Complain theres too many DJ's for such shorter time.. Nothing ever pleases nobody huh.

the only thing I liked about his set was his ENCORE TRACK! omg that owned. Then again Tisto's last year set at Ultra was AMAZING and then people also say he was @ Space. I do agree with it being crap they only spin for like 1 hour...EWL.

| Originally posted by FallingMoon I beg to differ...I think their club sets pwn and blow up the place and they tend to play mediocre sets at outdoor events. | Originally posted by LiquidX mmm well is all bout taste I guess. DJ's play for a different vibe in outdoors.. I find the outdoors more banging, more my style.. in clubs they take their time and take you wherever the DJ wants to take you... for example, I find that PvD plays better sets on the outdoors, and sets Ive heard from Armin in Outdoors.. to me are just way more impressive.. and I could go on and on with every DJ, although there's always good exceptions. Some DJ"s play different in different atmospheres.. like Oakenfold, that guy from Ultra 3 to 5 played just awesome sets, where as I also saw through that same time period mediocre sets played inside Clubs.. |

| Originally posted by FallingMoon I prefer outdoor events because damn you could actually breathe and you have room to dance and enjoy yourself and I just wish they would spin longer...I don't think they play the best sets but then again it could be because they only have like 1 hour and you know a DJ doesn't really get into his set till after a couple of tracks to warm up...I enjoy Ultra because the vibe of being outside is cool. |
