Radio 1 DJ - Dan Bailey

Apparently, this guy is DJing at our Student Union! This is quite a shock as our union isn't renouned for playing good music at parties.

Does anyone know if he is any good and what sort of music he plays?

Yeah, He played at our college christmas party too...atleast he was supposed to. All of his bouncers were there and he didnt show up...i just searched on google for him, think he does DnB.

hahahaha,

he'd love to see that.

He used to play trance, he plays at slinky fairly regularly. Has played Gatecrasher once or twice back in the day. He is now resident at Refresh@the Opera House bournemouth which is a house night.

So not sure whether you will get trance or tough techy house. He loves playing Katana stuff.

pretty good dj.
i'm slightly concerned how you havent heard of him as he plays slinky loads and the fact you live in winchester you must know of slinky.

p.s. he used to do all the mixes for Dave Pearce's mix selector, back three or four years ago and still does some of the mixes for Judge Jules.

Was he not a resident for slinky?

yes and no. he was never an official ressie but played at slinky at least once every two months and played pretty much every major slinky event. Him and Rob Tissera were both managed by Slinky for booking etc so basically as close to being a ressie wothout actually BEING one

Only been in Winchester for a year and a half. I know of Slinky and wanted to go and see PvD there on 6th, but alas, I'll be in Nevada!

didn't Dan Bailey play the worst set at Gatecrasher of all time?
even worse than Guy Ornadels classics set? which had Armin - Sunburn and Umek - Gatex in it

he slapped gatex into the breakdown of wizards of the sonic
from what I hear Dan Bailey played the worst set ever at crasher
he's been shit every time I've seen him as well

Posted by svens_bath on Mar-13-2005 01:59:

well he wasnt as bad as picottos last ever set at crasher at the last ever weekly. 8 hours of monotony. i swear he was just playing the same track all night. as far as i can recall dan bailey played a couple of decent tunes. did some scratching too i think.

Posted by Az on Mar-13-2005 02:22:

he was always at that scratching when I saw him
fucking shit

He played at our union too. I remember he played flaming june, out of the blue, cafe del mar etc. I ended up talking to him about what he usually plays and he said techy/trance stuff like Mojado and Sam Sharp, then I told him next time he comes he should play Sander van Doorn-Bling Bling hehe

Posted by Dazdaking on Mar-13-2005 14:58:

He is really shit. He used to play at Slinky all the time, which says it all really.

I witnessed Daniel Baily at gatecrasher. I can confirm it was the worst set I've ever seen at gatecrasher too (And I've seen a few....Dumonde, Scot Project any1?)

i know it's dominated by hard-house but whenever there is trance it has an atmosphere as good as anywhere else I have been to in the country.

and Paul van Dyk is going to be one hell of a night

It's really not rocket science mate. The lineups are shit, a lot of the crowd are gimps, and the venue is not all that (neither was Creation back in the day). You don't half seem to be taking this personally.

Thanks for replies ON THE SUBJECT people!

The actual night is on Thursday. To be honest, he can't be worse than our resident 'DJs' who play pop, r'n'b, hip-hop and cheese all night long.

I hope he plays alot of prog!
