REVIEW: Frankie Knuckles @ Boa
I can't feel my legs
What a great night. The vibe inside Boa was awesome. Chilled in the Redux for the most part, heard alot of Mischeif & Frankie. Those guys have some very funky disco sounding tracks. Reminded me of early Sneak days alot. Went upstairs once 4am hit, and Frankie started giving out some Knuckle punch beatz!
He played ALOT of vocal house, which was great. The basslines were off the hook... Lots of new tracks.
I took a peek over the new dj booth, and saw that he was using the CDj's alot, which is interesting. Nonetheless, the mixing was on point, and the track selections were phenominal.
It really is no wonder why he is one of the godfathers of house music. He proved it again tonight.
Going to catch some Z's.
Peace.
Great fuggin night. Knuckles was as good this time around as he was last time. My only complaint would have to be the really downtempo stuff he played around 8 or so. I had to sit and wait it out, really wasnt my bag. Earlier in the night was another story though, around 5am - 7am the crowd was completely 'Knuckled'..... the whole place was in crazed dancing mode for that time, and i dont think i said a single word to anyone during that time. Maybe it was just me, but did the sound seem a lot louder lastnight?? And loud in a good way - maybe it has something to do with the new setup. Club looks great, (two new moniters on either side of the new booth), though id like to see a bit more visibility on the sides and back side of the booth. Perhaps installing plexiglass walls sounding the sides and back would create more interaction with the dj? Just a suggestion
Great night, and very busy..... coat check need to be delt with in the 'off season', and im sure it will be resolved. Lets just hope that there isnt many more cold nights, and we can start comin coatless!
Thanks to all those who made it out for this, every week that passes it seems another group of regulars end up in the mix. Really starting to get a true family feel with all the familiar faces!
Ok - back to work now.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that there is never a bad night at BOA. Could it be that the club is that good or some people kind of exagerate the quality? Just curious.

So whats the verdict on the new booth location?
And there's 2 screens on the side's of the booth? How very "superclubbish"
