Anyone a metallica fan here?

so last night i met Lars Ulrich. but theres a tiny part of me that says its possibly not him...now of course the best way of finding out is of course asking for ID but thats kinda being a bit pushy considering the million and one questions the poor guy went thru in his wasted state.

so im meeting this guy on wedneday at a rehearsal studio and so i have to figure out a way of finding out for sure....any ideas?

(yea yea i know...he should look like him...but im bad with faces and well this guy is blonde cos tehy dyed his hair eysterday apparently so im completely thrown off)

Ask him how he feels about mp3 file sharing...that should solve any problems.

ask him for a quick round of tennis -- that is what he used to do in his younger days and unless i am forgetful it is what brought him to california in the first place from his native sweden? denmark?

i was SO itching to bring up an mp3 topic last night...lol

and abort416...thanks..that sounds like a plan....nobody would really know such details....lets see

but the reason why i was skeptical was cos this Lars had short sorta spikey hair and a goatie....and ive alwasy seen him in videos and pics with long hair...however one of my friends that saw them play a few months ago said he had a goatee an short hair..so maybe it IS him

why dont you just google search a pic of him? or look for something to ask him.

The internet, its just more than just message boards.

Ya and tell him how some of Metallica's biggest fans will never buy another CD of them ever again after the Napster fiasco

Napster didn't help them achieve that, it was two albums called Loaded and Re-Loaded that made them do that.

Go on their website and on the forum, some crazed fan should be tracking his every step. If he's in Toronto, then yeah, prolly him.

Lars is a native to Denmark.

I saw Metallica in Hamilton with my gf last October. They still know how to blow the roof off a stadium. Not a fan of the newer stuff though...

And so what- ask him for ID. I'm sure it isn't the wierdest request he's ever heard.

it wasnt load and reload that did it for me as a metallica fan -- it was the damn self-titled or black album. what a sellout album! that was the turning point of metallica when they went from a metal band to an alt rock band.
they still do kick alot of ass -- saw them this summer and the summer before and their show was amazing when they werent playing new crap.
but black is still known to all metallica fans as the one they sold out on.

Well many hardcore fans felt "Black" was the sell out album, while others said it was a different tune and page for the band to step on and achieved a mainstream audience that appreciated the hard and heavy sound of Metallica. The problem I see, is that the Black album was produced by Bob Rock, also known as the mainstream heavy rock God of the industry. His touch is always apparent in anything he does, and as a producer hes just that good at doing what it is to make a classic mainstream album. Regardless, Metallica and Rock had made metal into so Here's the thing I found with Loaded and Re-Loaded is that they kept with the Bob Rock style of Metallica (most likely due to the fact they sold most albums ever with him), and instead of showing the fans something new and creative in their new style, they decided to stick to the formula of Black and rinse and repeat with even worse songs than Black, the music had truly lost its colour and energy. Fortunately they continued on to make S&M, which is one of my favorite CD's to listen to sometimes.

So whether you believe either one of those three albums was the start of selling out, atleast "Black" was a bad ass album, worthy of listening to. If only they left it at Black, they prolly would of been remembered as perhaps one of the most classic rock bands of all time. This isn't really a defence for Metallica, cause they did in the end "sell out", but I still love the Black album. "Nothing Else Matters" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Trader!LOL!

That was their last best album...
For some reason though I've seen them live 3 times ...before and after Napster. Last time was when they came to The Skydome and Linkin Park Kicked Their BUTT!
