*NEWBIE HERE* hi all

Hi everyone. Just got signed up for this board.

I'm into mostly trance and house styles so that is why I joined this board.
I need some suggestions for tunes similar to Deep Dish Flashdance. My brother and I were cruising two days ago Friday night and he heard the that song and loved it.

I was wondering if there is any *SIMILAR TUNES* to Flashdance. if so then please let me know

hiya!!! sorryn to early to think

Posted by Hydarnes on Mar-14-2005 12:28:

I can't stand to even see Flash Dance - Deepdish mentioned That song is such a glorified piece of american rock, nothing euro or trance at all.

BTW, welcome dravencore!

If you're extremely new to trance you might want to check out DJ Encore feat. Engelina.

He never said it was trance and what the hell's the big deal if it isn't Euro?

Posted by Hydarnes on Mar-14-2005 12:32:

Because Euro is synonymous with great trance/house/dance music.

so no good trance tracks could ever come out of America, Asia or Oceania?

Posted by Hydarnes on Mar-14-2005 12:41:

Asia and Oceania, yes, America VERY RARE. Believe me, I live here and our music is pathetic.

sorry it's kind of a novelty to see an American thinking where he/she lives isn't the best for once!

by the way you do know euro trance/dance is just another name for cheese right?

Posted by Hydarnes on Mar-14-2005 12:44:

Oh, it's a nice place to live (and we have pretty good movies), but it's the worst place for music. There are a few exceptions, but overall our thing is nu-metal/heavy metal, hard rock, rap and hip-hop.

Posted by Alexan on Mar-14-2005 12:47:

I don't know about that. Birth place of Rock & Roll, R&B, Blues, Jazz.

Depends on what you call "cheese". A good percentage of "euro-" means quality trance/dance music for me. Doesn't mean it has to be commercial synth-pop pretending to be trance like "Lasgo" and the likes

That's what it used to be, now the aforementioned styles are completely taking over.

I dunno it's just that usually you see "Euro Dance/Trance" albums with artists liek ATB, Woody van Eyden, Lasgo, Jan Wayne.

I usually call things like Phynn, Ferry, Above & Beyond just trance not really caring where it's from.

(Thanks for not turning this into a flame war by the way)

Posted by Hydarnes on Mar-14-2005 12:56:

Oh hey, no problem, I can't stand flame wars. Yeah, "euro" can get a bad name with all the cheap stuff coming out.

But you need to appreciate your music And I will admit, I do listen to SOME commercial stuff (just because it's commercial doesn't necessarily make it all tacky). DJ Encore feat. Engelina is what I call quality commercial.

it's cheese

and House (Chicago house) and Techno (Detroit techno).

I'm just curious...so do you call anything that's catchy or melodious "cheese"?
