i have sony 7506

but u can't go wrong with senn

Sennheiser 580. Best quality money can buy at $200 US. It's like having the full resonence of a quality sound room on your ears. The only thing lacking is the air vibrations pummelling your body.

Sennheiser 610. $100 more, and very minute difference in quality over the 580. Only the absolute best soundsystems will be able promote this difference.

Electro-static headphones. Ugly, rectangluar-shaped headphones. Upwards of a couple grand for a pair! They blow even the Senns out of the water, apparently.

Cool Guys....thanks for the suggestions !! i guess i wud go with my first choice then.... the Senn HD 280 Pro's. The cost restricted the choice...well wat else does though wud still liv to hear if any1 else have some other headphones and they think those headphones are really great too.

Senn 280s are shite

considering the sony 7506s cost only $10 more, and are possibly some of the finest headphones ever built for professional and consumer use alike, you would be daft not to.

if I were you I would pick up a Grado RS-1.

its a little over your budget but i guess it would be worth it, cuz its supposedly a damn good (best) headphone for music.

+1!

I own a pair of Grado SR-225s & they are awesome. They are truely are for people who appreciate music. The bass is freaken deep. The highs are crystal clear & the mids are brilliant. I highly recommend them. The RS-1s would be kickass too, though they are rather pricey. Well worth the investment though.

Check out ultimate ears at ultimateears.com
These are the headphones used by a lot of musicians. They are custom-fit to your ear so you must get moldings of your ear first. They are pretty pricey though.

It's pretty subjective when it comes to phones, without being obvious - get to a store and take a cd full of tunage. Sit and listen!

You might find low-end Senns at such stores (like the 500s) but to find the primo cans your best bet is online. It's where I had to buy mine.
