IMPORTANT ASOT & GDJB NEWS! posted by: Evangelist date: 3/14/2005 Kiss another show goodbye! I've become numb to losing all these shows at this point, it's happened enough times lately it must be karma or something so I'm taking a lesson from my Buddhist friends, there's no sense getting angry or feeling bad, this is just the way things are for right now. ETN is still the highest quality free webradio with the most impressive resident list I've seen so I can be happy with that. I have an update regarding ASOT first and then I'll get on the news about GDJB. regarding A State of Trance Turns out the email I posted last week wasn't worded exactly correct, what TRD REALLY meant was, that they select ONE station per maket to carry their shows... this makes perfect sense as you wouldn't want a syndicated show being aired on 2 stations in the same market... say, the same CITY. Unfortunately The Radio Department views the Internet as ONE market, and they have selected DI as their exclusive broadcaster for that market because it's statistically and financially much more appealing. Against that comparison there's no reason for them to go with any station other than DI. To address the concerns about requiring money to listen to ASOT now, TRD's response is that DI has free streams, and remember the whole reason they are involved is to get ASOT syndicated on FM & cable radio stations worldwide on which you could also listen at normal quality free of charge. There's no way ETN can come close to the statistic or financial appeal that DI has to TRD, so until ASOT is out of TRD's hands (if ever), ETN is out of it. A STATE OF TRANCE DOWNLOADS CAN NO LONGER BE SUPPORTED here at ETN. Obviously I can't and won't be posting any NEW ASOT torrents as DI and TRD own exclusive rights to the show and I am way too visible in this situation with all my legal attempts to carry the show, I cannot illegally relay or "steal" the show from DI's streams, nor can we run downloads without permission. If you want downloads, feel free to go ask DI about them. If you want to find some webradio stations that are still pirate enough that they can relay the show from "other sources", I'd suggest asking in the ASOT chat room Furthermore I am dropping my support for all the past ASOT torrents as demanded by TRD, so basically if you're sitting in an old ASOT torrent waiting for it to finish, you might as well give up cuz it probably never will. Alright, on to the Global DJ Broadcast news! First, the BAD news: The Global DJ Broadcast has followed A State of Trance over to DI and for the time being both shows will be exclusively broadcast there. the good news (what little there is of it): it's highly probable that we will be able to offer DOWNLOADS of the Global DJ Broadcast shows on a delayed timeframe. I'm waiting to hear exactly what that timeframe will be from DI, and while I don't know when the GDJB will officially start up over there, it definitely won't be until then that I know when I'm allowed to post the download. I'm sure you can imagine where I'll post that information once I have it.... you got it! right HERE! Will @ ETN.fm |
who cares? maby etn can get some good music now... new music never hurts...

plenty of good artists on ETN.
have they thought about asking armin to do a show like every 3 months for ETN, or maybe markus, i know they're busy guys and all but ETN is growing in popularity, it wouldn't hurt anyway

Request are good and as a radio station you would be stupid not to do atleast a show with a couple of requests.
The listener requests the track in hope the dj will play therfore making the listener stay tuned incase they play the track and give them a little shout.
I'll listen over at DI.
w00t.
awww, i don't like di....damn.
I know a couple of good freinds of mine who are not the most popular but your station lets them play regardless... Much respect for that...and as for DI, I F@CKING HATE DI...Always play that same cheesy garbage over and over and now they have ASOT and GDJB...I dont listen to either show and definitly wont from now on since DI has them.
You guys at ATN are promoting the good underground and are pushing new young talent that are actually worth a listen. I'm sticking with you guys.
The way I see it, at least we can still listen. It's better then nothing.
I'm dissapointed that ETN can't carry the show, most likely becuase DI thinks it will lose profits from the premium streams if people can just listen to ASOT in high quality for free over at ETN. I'm sure its DI pushing TRD's buttons and its not the other way around.
The listener figures for DI are going to be larger, but if it wasn't for ETN, I don't think ASOT would be the show it is today. ETN brought the show to a GLOBAL audience, rather then the limited spectrum that ID&T had. I think it would be only fair to allow ETN to carry the show, but in the end, thats not the way business works.
Like I said previously, at least we can still listen to the show, even if it is in DI.FM. And those of us who want high-quality rips of the show, know where to look.
