The Poor Thread.
Who else shares my joy of living out of home, and working a few shifts a week around Uni to pay all the bills?
at least a few of my friends are poor as well!

i also live at home but i work 40 hours a week and i'm still poor.
stupid rego plus living expenses 
I spend almost every dollar i earn on records and alcohol.
And i haven't even learnt to beatmatch yet, i need new needles first

-car breaking down every two weeks
-loan repayments for my equip.

ahh life really is expensive these days
Argh don't even get me started.
I live with my man, we both work but don't earn much, bills are always coming in, we never go out, it's stressful always worrying if we will have enough money to pay the next bill. GRRRRRRRR
Have stupid debt to pay off, and I'm not even making a dent in it.
Anyways could go on but..........................

ahh the Australian dream, get a mortgage and spend the rest of your life paying it off. Does anyone own anything in this country? well aparts from the banks I mean?

I don't know why I bother sometimes
I've always been poor. Last year from august->april, I survived off only my income tax return, which I cheated on.
$485 of the most stretched money I've ever had. Although I did run out sometime around mid-march and started losing pounds rather quickly, and my parents helped me out for the last couple weeks.

I work 50+ hours on shit wages, i count myself fortunate. Not poor.

I got a cheque for $1000 from the government today.

man i went from a job in IT paying $23 n hour to a job in accounting getting paid $12.50 an hour WTF*!#@$(& I have next to nothing in the bank and a maxed out credit card. I spend too much on alcohol (on avg $200 a night!?!) anyone else have this problem, or is this something i should bring up in AA?
Fortunately i get paid soon.
on a side note, in meeting today was talking about interest rates, it's predicted that there will be another rise next month and fairly soonish we can expect to see interest rates go up to 9%. So i dunno, the 1% of people with a mortgage on here might wanna lock in their interest rates.
There was also a prediction of a recession in 2008.

Yes well my industry pays shit. $14.80 an hour for caring for people with disabilities. Being resposible for their lives etc, yes I know I don't do it for the money but for the love of my job, it just sux continuly being poor and if I stay in this industry as I wish to as I am good at it and love it things won't exactly change. Better get used to it eh.....

get this out of a fortnights pay i got $700 and they took out $800 tax.......
FUCKIN MORE THAN HALF OF IT
and in that week i had my car rego and insurance due, ive borrowed money off the parentials for the rego, which will be 75% of my next fortnights pay......
fkn went down to the pay office "oh coz of the labour day public holiday we cant fix it til after next weeks pay"
So i farken worked 9 days straight + a public holiday and am only gonna get 700 again
doesnt help when im moving overseas next year
Work 9 hour days, 6 days a week to support my phones, net, ascending credit bills, and I don't have a car so I must rely on shitty yet expensive public transport.
To top it all off, my dad permantely farked up his arm recently and is unable to work - leaving me to help out the family and pay the mortgage.
Add me to the list.

its hard but you are better of then some people.(eg you have access to the internet)
