The one and only Cat Stevens

Are there any other fans of Cat Stevens here?
I am currently in love with his music. I admire the wise philosophy in his lyrics, and of course the catchiness of most of his songs.
*sigh* it just shows how bad pop music has become, these days we have dumb bitches like Ashlee Simpson singing about absolute bullshit. There will never be another Cat Stevens

My favourite tracks:
Rubylove
Father & Son
Wild World
Remember the days of the old school yard

Lightbulb

If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out
such a great song, one of my absolute favorites by Cat Stevens
the whole soundtrack he made for Harold & Maude suits just perfect
well, the movie itself is a must see, if anyone missed it.

and i have to agree with you on today's pop-music...
poets like cat stevens seem to be nearly gone, really sad in a certain way.

let's not forget moonshadow! Yes he has some of the deepest lyrics i have ever heard, i've been listening to cat since i was quite young when my father told me about him. Good to see some others who apreciate good music like his

I love Cat Stevens, I've listened to his stuff since I was a kid.

Now known as Yusuf Islam, his music is really good.

i listened to the wind, to the wind of my soul. where i'll end up, well i think, only god really knows. i've sit upon the setting sun, but never, never, never, never... i never wanted water once. no never, never, never, never.
i listened to my words but they fall far below. i let my music take me where my heart wants to go. i swam upon the devil's lake, but never, never, never, never... i'll never make the same mistake. no, never, never, never, never...

i adore cat stevens. i grew up listening to him. "the wind" is my favorite, but his whole collection is lovely. he was stopped in airport security following 9/11 because he looked so blatantly middle-eastern. he's dedicated his life to allah now.

it's hard to get by on just a smile. (but damned if i won't try!)

he is also a very kind person which devoted much of his life to charity. Especially rememberd for all his relief help during the Balkan war.
