Reason - Redrum

Ive been trying to find a tutorial but havent so far (not that ive been looking very long) so i thought ide just ask in here.

Ive made a nice drum loop in Redrum, so now, how do i apply that to the main tune (so i can control when its played and when it stops) within the song.

At the moment i press play and the loop will start in redrum but i obv dont want it running through the whole tune and will want to change it during the tune.

You can obv pencil in the beat on the sequence track but that removes the point of a loop creator.

are you lazy to open up the manual?

as soon as samples were uploaded into redrum, you have to go to your sequencer window. Then draw with a pencil tool when you want em to play, then make a loop out of it (called grouping) its ctrl+g, and reverse, ctrl+u

You can also just move the Left and Right markers to where you want your loop and right-click on the ReDrum and copy pattern to track.

i gather you've used the step sequencer in the redrum.. if you right clikc on the unit you see something like, "apply to sequencer" (can't remember exactly what it is coz i write the drum loops straight into the sequencer..)

that'll then past what you've got in the redrum step squencer into the main one.. from there you can edit it much more then what you can in redrum.. future reference, i wouldn't recomend wrighting drum loops in redrum.. get used to using the main sequencer to lay em out.. much more time efficient and more control

I actually find the step sequencer quite good for building up a basic pattern. Of course I always copy it to the sequencer later, anything else would be crazy.
Anyway to the first poster don't use the Redrum banks and automation crap, it's just stupid. Using the sequencer for variations etc is the way to go

I think this is the most efficient way.
