Slighlty Illegal
Something tells me that certain record labels would be interested in speaking to this person... ------> Click Here <-------
the words 'what a complete tosser' spring to mind.... why should he make money from others work? buy your goddamn music!!!!
yeah im converting all mine into digital (take a long time) format, but i dont bloody go sell the frikin tunes again. i would never give my songs to friends with cd dj's when put from vinyl to cd, only song i give is a Mix CD NOT THE ORIGINAL!
I must admit, when i list very very upfront promos and test presses on ebay on 12", i sometimes get people mailing me asking me if i can record it to audio cd for them.
But what that guy is doing is just really stupid, especially when ebay suspend his account for breaking the T&C.
well, im not involved with record labels, but i am involved with this forum like many others, and i think watching grown men snitch on each other leaves me with more concern
Agreed, its illegal.
How many of these does he plan to sell at 5 pounds a song plus 1.50 pounds to ship it? Most of the songs are at least 6 months old if not more.
Funny. Suburban Train - Picture Disk. Doesn't the picture disk have the same mixes as the regular release?
Just stupid.
If he doesnt put the picture disc image on the cd, wouldnt it be false advirtisement?

Some people are stupid if the buy them of him. Surely people will know its illegal thus know ways of getting the full 12" for downloads
no, no, you're all getting this wrong. it's fucking awesome. i mean, who the hell pays 6.50 for ONE single track when nearly all of them are very easy to find on P2P. this guy is an hero.

Not exactly up front tunes...
As for snitching on him... twats like that hurt all of us. People like him make it easier for the record industry to justify their price tags which ultimately means we have to pay more.
Besides, what would you do if it was one of your tracks he was making money off?
I agree, I generally don't like snitches either. Keep in mind that there is a considerable difference between someone who informs the correct authorities because of moral/ethical obligation and someone who just does it to get someone else into trouble.
I wouldn't worry too much about the likes of him though, don't think he will be raking it in with that collection... Not saying they are all bad tunes or anything but they are not exactly hard to find either.
Cheers
Nem

I've had many people (non-DJs or just starting DJs) hit me up for my entire collection just because I have it on my Mac. To me it's not just a bunch of digital files -- it's quite literally thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of work. My collection is an extension of me and I wouldn't even want another DJs collection cause it wouldn't be mine. Weeellll I might take a copy of the tracks on PVD's Mac. ;-)
As dance music moves from vinyl to digital I hope that sense of pride and ownership in a collection isn't lost...
