re: Misja Helsloot @ VIVA

Seeing as this issue still hasn't been put to rest on this board, here it is once and for all. First off I would like to inform everyone that Misja is perfectly fine, and despite the unfortunate events that occured last week, he did in fact have a great time in Vancouver and said that he will play again for me in the future. Although I wasn't able to see the events that occured first hand, this is what happened to the best of my knowledge. Misja in his girlfriend were outside for a cigarette, when a group of pathetic losers started to harass them. Misja didn't do anything to provoke them, and for no reason one of the people in the group 'slapped' Mijsa in the face. Needles to say that I felt terrible at this point, and was very embarassed with what happened and the way the situation was handled. I was very impressed when I asked Misja what he wanted to do and told me that he wanted to start playing right away. Soon after he started playing his set, I noticed that the group of people who had caused this entire problem were allowed to remain in the club. I couldn't believe that they were allowed to continue to harass innocent people for the rest of the night at their free will. I have never seen anything like this happen in all of my years of clubbing, it was an absoltute disgrace. Due to the events that occured last week, I WILL NO LONGER BE BOOKING ANY DJS FOR CLUB VIVA. I have already cancelled 2 shows including the TA Invasion. At this point I'm not sure if I will even play there again myself, it depends how the club is going to deal with this situation. Again, I'm very sorry for everthing that happened, and I appreciate all of the support you guys have shown me.

Sincerly,

DT

I heard what happened, that is similar to what happened at blox. There too the security/bouncers didn't do anything. Funny how that works.....

I saw the guy getting escorted out, then this skinny asian "bouncer" let him back in.

We knew he was trouble. And they did nothing.

meh.

I hope he comes back, he was fucking incredible.

sorry to hear that Danny, Viva seemed like a peaceful environment to me, and going clubbing in general should be about music and feeling safe and not threatened and when some just ruined it all that night what's the result? I doubt if same people will turn up there again.

heard about this from other TA members...sounds horrible...
pretty bad on Viva's part not to kick the shit-disturbers out...glad you have such a strong will with it DT.. but dont be too harsh..everyone makes mistakes in uncomfortable situations..maybe viva just didnt deal with it properly but *IF* (hopefully not) there is a next time for such an occurance im sure viva would deal with it differently and hopefully better? you be the judge hehe

anyways, glad to hear everyone is okay !!!
