The Custom Shirt Thread

I saw that somebody's intro thread to the board got hijacked into a custom party t-shirt discussion.

Lets talk about custom shirts in here.

Me and some friends plan to make them for decadence. We made shirts last year for the freedom party at guv, and my buddy john used to make custom shirts regularly. His freedom shirt was the best one though, it said "WAR IS CLOSED" like on the PVD Global DVD in japan where the guy holds the "closed" sign over the word "over" on the shirt that originally read "WAR IS OVER".

Anyway, what's the best cheapest way to get shirts made in your experiences out there?

I really like the stencil/spraypaint effect.

I just use iron-on transfers. Cheap and very simple.

my dream come true (t-shirt wise) would be if everyone had a shirt that said either 'SINGLE' or 'TAKEN' on it.. would make things so much easier

i had my own one made last night at picadillys......a spray paint one

"Armada"

"armin #1" < ----- with the trademark armin smily....saving it for amrada night in miami ....sweet
although it turned out kinda fruity lookin

I have yet to create mine, but i plan to sooooooooooooon!

As i said before in tha other thread, i want a customized wifebeater, non of this acutal t-shirt business

Im thinking blue lettering... theres a place in town that puts on any images or text you give them. i believe its like 20$... pretty good i guess, since that way i have to dick all for work myself.

i just want my TA name somehwere on it plus TRANCEADDICT loud and proud, y'know !?!

trouble is w/ iron-on shit, a wifebeater dont make the best kinda fabric for such things.... oh well, thats whut i really want it on!

anyone know of any iron products that won't crack or leave a clear residue/glue on the shirt where there is no graphic?

Also, I need one that can be ironed onto dark coloured shirts. Experiences?

Thanks

Karim

Exacto knife + steady hands will give you the requested result.

What about cracking in the wash and when being worn?

High quality transfer paper, with good high quality (application specific) inks, properly applied, should last a reasonable amount of time with minimal cracking, bleeding, etc.

I design and silkscreen my own shirts...

now where's my cookie!?

My shirt for Lawler tonight is ultra cheesy looking, but I was aiming for that...at least that's what I'll stick to.

The ribbed wife beaters are definitely not ideal for any kind of iron on. Stick to flat cottom tees and you can get a fairly long life out of the Grand and Toy iron on transfers. Just make sure you always wash them inside out and don't throw them in high heat in the dryer.

If you want to find the retro letters (either velvet or sparkling silver)kensington markets has a few stores that sell them.

the very best way and the cheapest way,, is definitly silk screening,,, but i guess not everyone is as artsy as ++ego++ nd i, plus i have access to the ocad silk screening studio.. the ink is cheap and its not that time consuming,, i can also do prints which are photo based.. so if ppl wanna get together and make some shirts to sell,,,, im your woman!
