Wow! That's my heriatge, I'm half Lao very nice scenery from around there, just dont go too deep into the forest, lots of nasties in there...

Oh, and I see that you've discovered the drama of SE asian public transport We spent 74 hours with 13 of us in a minivan (made for 9) with a chicken on the woman to my left and a pig in the walkway (because the train on the tracks before us derailed on it's way out... (we were in the train waiting to leave after it !!)

Gotta love the 'luggage in the cabin' look! the cargo hold was full of passengers no doubt

Fun times mind you, if anyone knows how to make a little go a long way it's them my hat is off to you...

Nah it's not too bad... It was pretty cool, when we were there we cashed in US$100 travellers cheque and came home with just about a suitcase full of notes!! It looked cool at least... I'd almost want to go over there and work for them for a while as a local to just help out where I can...

Nah, we just stayed in Vientiane for about a week or so... We did Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Laos in one trip over three months about lol, prolly 8 years ago now!! It's all a bit hazy, but the food is parallel to none I swear I've tried about 20 different versions of Kway Teow... Mmm mmmm
