Haunting vocals
Wots the bets way to get that haunting vocal quality on vocals? The two examples I think most demonstrate wot I am talking about are Motorcycle - As the rush comes (female) and Ben Lost - jump the next train (Male). Wot are the best VST's and wot settings do I need to use to get that lush ethereal feel? Any help would be most appreciated.
I don't suppose the singer would have anything to do with it?

well, the mic and the singing booth does help a lot too..
I remember listening to the acapella of 4 Strings - Take me away a while ago and it still sounded great but just a little thin as it was I raw vocal track i'm pretty sure. But it still sounded the same as the vocal mix just without reverb
All in the singer dude!!!
good mic, good compressor(s), good preamp, and a good ear with the eq... also a little verb and/or delay
