-- Question for those who have CDJs
Question for those who have CDJs
Was wondering if anybody can tell me wether or not if they have ever tried to use a cd lens cleaner on one of these and if it works? My PIONEER CDJ700s are over 6 years old and they're starting to skip very frequently. Does anyobody have any suggestions as to how I can stop them from skipping. I don't think that normal lens cleaners that you buy from Wal-Mart or Radio Shack will work with this type of equipment. Any help would be useful, thanks.
I don't know why sometimes they Maxell CD Lens Cleaner from Wal Mart, and it didnt work either. I'm gonna look for the instruction manual on line and seee if it says anything there.
Some work some don't I would probably suggest taking it into an autherized service center and having them do a really thourough cleaning.
There's also a slight probability that the lens may need replaced or something of that level ...
if the dealer can replace just the lens you're looking at 50 bucks for the parts and 50~100 labor
If they have to replace the optical lens chassis with motor that's about 100+ bucks + labor .....
But the lens or chassis replacement is dependent on the mfr ... I dont know how pioneer is about that stuff but they do decent support I think so there might be a possiblity they may provide just the lens.
Yeah I did a little research and figured it out. PIONEER does not manufacture the lens alone and i am sure that is what the problem is. Instead you have to buy the whole repair kit plus labor is gonna cost me about 200 dollars for each one propably. Well worth it though cuz CDJs rock if you got a pair. Too bad the other one recently acted up a couple of times. Now I'm gonna have to replace the lens on both... oh well, I don't plan on unbecoming a dj anytime soon
so its worth it. Plus I gosta have something to play unreleased tracks on.
