10 people killed in Minn. shootings

8 slain at high school on Indian reservation;motive still unknown

The Associated Press
Updated: 10:07 p.m. ET March 21, 2005RED LAKE, Minn. - A student went on a shooting spree Monday, killing seven people at his high school on an Indian reservation, authorities and witnesses said. The gunman himself was found shot to death at the school, and his grandparents were shot dead earlier at their home, the authorities said.

It was the nations worst school shooting since the Columbine massacre in 1999.

Before the shootings at Red Lake High School, the suspects grandparents were shot in their home and died later.

At least six students were killed, four initially and two who were critically injured then later died. Also slain were a teacher and a security guard, FBI spokesman Paul McCabe said at a news conference in Minneapolis.

well lets face it. shit like this doesnt happen in europe.

it happens in third world countries. yes.

but in non north american developed countries it never happens. i think our media/culture plays a bigfactor in this. i think media really fucks our heads up.

Happened in Germany in 2002. 18 ppl died.

That sort of stuff happens everywhere.

it does unfortunately..
and i dont want to make assumptions here but hopefully this isn't another case of bullying gone wrong. Victims can only take so much abuse.

we were all guilty of it to some extent (jokingly or not). I'm sure some of us were on the receiving end as well. It is a terrible thing and I'm sorry to say not enough is done to prevent it in schools today. Also parents....take more interest in your son/daughters schooling...look for signs of bullying / abuse towards your kids and TAKE ACTION....

this has to end...

i feel for victims

Sure you can. I dont worry about being shot. Gun culture in the US is much different from Canada.

Funny, I've never ever had a fear of being shot.

Sad, very sad. This is yet another reason for gun control. And for all you rednecks that are going to blab about the right to bear arms and such; I just want to let you know that the British are not coming! The invasion plan has been cancelled! Please put down your guns and go back home, kthx!

And one more thing: FUCK YOU Charlton Heston!

I must apologise for my harsh words earlier in this thread. It now seems as though this boy made pro-hitler statements on a nazi website. I jumped to the conclusion that this was another case of bullying gone bad.

I however stick by my thoughts on bullying in schools today.
