the future is here. psp is the portable to end all portables

fuck ds. even fuck n gage. psp will reign as champ soon and forever. the graphics are excellent. this machine is really meant for the adults now. no more kids play

i have seen people line up to get their hands on theri very own psp. i have seen people bring their gameboys or n gage with them to play them one last time before they trade it in for some credit towards psp

and there has been some people that is selling their xboxs to get their psps.

no doubt sony is smart and will be king in the portable department once again.

Oh, Jesus fuckin' CHRIST, not another "this system is better than that one" thread. Anyone else who browses this forum regularly, you guys notice that it's ALWAYS the newbies who post this ludicrous shit?

As far as PSP and DS go, I'd get them both, if I had the money.

So newbie....

SHUT THE FUCK UP and take a hike.

Thank you.

You know me all too well.

However, this is just calcumore. He probably got banned and came back with this username.

Let's take this one part by part, shall we?

dravencore3 says "fuck DS" and that's really a shame since this is one of the most innovative and daring things that Nintendo, let alone any hardware company, has done (save for the Sega Dreamcast and their VMUs with screens). It's life has just started and it has quite a bright future even with the PSP coming out.

Then he says "even fuck n gage". It's kind of easy to see that we're dealing with an uninformed person. Nokia sold so few of their NGage units that the NGage itself was removed from the ELSPA (Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association) charts. Even ChartTrack, the company that compiles the sales had this to say: "The N-Gage chart, though still produced, is of little interest to anyone. Sales of the machine and its software have failed to make any impact on the market at all." When a console or handheld is no longer monitored by the ELSPA, THAT'S when you know it's dead. (However, this isn't meant to insult the NGage users. The NGage [the QD, in particular] is a great emulator and phone... but I don't think of it highly as anything else.) You are aware that the PSP will have a successor, right?

We are obviously dealing with a newer generation gamer since he comments on the graphics. If anything, the older generation of gamers had anything but graphics in mind. I won't argue with you there, though, dravencore3. The graphics are gorgeous.

Well... the line about adults isn't entirely true. Nearly 40% of the market for the PSP is under the age of 18. Also, there are a ton of games that plan to be released that won't seem like they are for "adults". Anyways, who's to say what an "adult" game is and isn't.

It saddens me when people trade in older consoles, handhelds, and games. Maybe I just find all video games sentimental. Anyways, I don't think one should trade in a console/handheld unless they TOTALLY have a problem with it and/or it's software. The Nintendo Game Boy, DS, the Nokia NGage, and the Xbox are all machines with their own special contributions to the gaming world.

Sony is smart but they've never been the "king" in the handheld market. Nintendo has always had 90% to 95% of the market.

Hey dravencore3. I got a question for you. Have you seen the Game Boy Evolution? No. You haven't. Therefore your opinion is nothing more than that. AN OPINION. A biased one at that, too.

Now run along and play your overpriced PSP. Or are you charging it for the 4th time today? That must be it.

The fact almost saddens me.

Almost.

This is what I was doing all throughout my high school years. Reading up on the business as well as the gaming aspect of the gaming industry. Of course, I have to hands-on things, as well.

Do note that I held off from mudslinging till the very last line.

NOW this thread is going somewhere.

Ill just be an innocent bystander who happened to pick up a PSP today and thinks its the greatest handheld of all time.

But its almost too sexy. Im afraid to touch it!

The cries have been heard, and there are many. It seems Sony pushed those 1 million PSP out to the US a little too quickly, with reports are swarming in regarding units with dead pixels. Some PSPs seem to have it worse than others: some have large groups of dead dots and even entire rows or columns. The unit we bought last night had a big dead one right smack in the middle of the screen. The folks at the Sony store were kind enough to replace our unit quickly and quietly, but reports from some online vendors are less promising. Well keep you updated as this unfolds.

Wow. That's gotta suck. No surprises here, however, since Sony isn't the most dependable when it comes to hardware.

Thanks for the heads up.

You, sir/madam, are my best friend since you understand what it means to be a gamer.

I find myself popping in my old SNES games ALL the time.

If you're posting on these boards and have a PSP, I *HIGHLY* recommend you get Lumines... It's the most addictive game since Tetris - but with cool visuals and a great house/progressive soundtrack from Mondo Grosso. Wipeout Pure is another amazing game with great music (including a track from everyone's favorite DJ - Tiesto) and fantastic graphics. Got the system yesterday and it's incredible.

You silly people never fail to amuse me.

You should know that the Nintendo DS was never meant to be pitted against the PSP. That's what the Game Boy Evolution is for. Nintendo is taking big risks by challenging the handheld and console world with new and innovative things. Everyone else is taking the easy path. For that, I salute Nintendo.

Haha. He's a weirdo. We're entitled to one per Gaming Forum.

Then again, I'd love to become a mod of the Gaming Forum so as to clean this place up. That'd include organizing, of course... We don't need so many PSP topics, for one.
