Presets/SoundBanks not working in various Synths

I downloaded several soundbanks, patches etc from patcharena.com.

The ones for Vangaurd worked fine. But the ones that weren't in "banks", such as for Sytrus, 3xOsc (using FL Studio btw), they would show up in the presets, but they sound wouldn't come out, it would just be the sound of the last working preset, (the ones that came with it).

Is it a compatability issue?

turn up the filter/volume ?

some patches often don't work full stop though... compatiablility issues or just corrupt
