U.N.K.L.E. - Edit Music For A Film
Anyone heard anything about this new unkle release?
release date for the UK is 18/04/05
I'm pretty excited, the concept sounds great, would love to see some sort of tracklist.

UNKLE Entertainment presents UNKLESounds: 'Edit Music For a Film - After Dark Prologue (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Reconstruction)'. This was done for the 'After Dark' event in the ICA, London. James Lavelle put together a mix of soundtracks from films that inspired him the most...and this is the result of that amazing set.
James Lavellle and Richard File's UNKLE Sounds once again returns with another awesome Soundscape mix. Taking their inspiration from the Movies this 2CD set seamlessly mixes together some of the biggest tracks from the dancefloor with movie dialogue and well known film music. Featuring tracks and collaborations from Roots Manuva and Richard Ashcroft alongside original UNKLE compositions this is another essential collection from UNKLE. This will keep all the Mo Wax headz and UNKLE warriors more than happy with plenty of surprises and hidden gems.
cannot wait
Woot looks to be great. Something to look forward too
In fact I can hazard a guess at one of the tracks on the album at least.
Moby - God Moving over the face of the Waters mashed up with UNKLE - In a State.
I saw Lavelle at Fabric a week ago, and he played this. I remember thinking at the time, it was quite an abstract track selection, and of course the moby track is the track playing in the final scene of the film Heat (De Niro & Al Pacino).
This mashup is phenominal and to be honest i'd pay 16 pounds or whatever just to be able to hear it again.

glad to see lavelle has moved on from his look at me, I'm UNKLE damnit phase that turned gu026 into a pile of crap.

I really like UNKLE's Never Never Land album, but haven't heard much of Lavelle's mixing.
This should be a good cross-over compromise it seems.
Sounds like:
Radiohead - Exit Music (For A Film)
The song that plays at the end of Romeo & Juliet. The one with DiCaprio in it.
this sounds interesting, hope it's good

Just got my copy of Edit Music in the mail. Pretty good stuff.
That tracklisting, for the most part, is correct. There's a lot of stuff I don't recognize, but there are some I do that are missing.
Disc 1
1. Battle Without Honor or Humanity from Kill Bill Vol. 1 comes right before the Romeo & Juliet stuff.
2. Unfortunately, the Dylan Rhymes track appears nowhere on the mix. (It mentions his name on the sleeve, though. A little help figuring out which track is his would be great.)
3. Safe in Mind is actually on Disc 1 near the end. It's a D&B version.
Disc 2
1. A breaks remix of a track off the soundtrack to Solaris is in the middle of disc 2. Can't remember the actual track, or who remixed it, but it's easily my favorite part of the entire mix.
2. Before the Scarface outro, Elton John's Tiny Dancer is in there.
If there's any other questions I can answer, let me know.
So I take it the CD(s) doesnt have a trcaklist on/in it?
Is this available in stores or online stores yet?
a cd without tracklist, nice!

i got the album and its crazy. lol... i enjoy it alot. i prefer cd2 over cd1 but both are great. i esp love the moby mash up w/ in a state. as for cd 1, its great but it left me wishing there was a vid to go w/ the cd so itd be easier to follow. lol i wasnt too impressed w/ the part where roots mauvas acapella comes in. i dunno,i like hiphop but that was just too noisy. and to sum it up, it kills me that theres no actual tracklist nor any booklet that comes with the cds. but the packaging is kinda neat, w/ U.N.K.L.E. mocking major labels and movie companies.
the one thing that did bug me was that the cd is one track. actually that doesnt bug me much but when you try to go back, even if you do press the previous button, it only goes back one segment of the one track.. it doesnt make sense i know but its true!
