White Night = Success
Well, my friggin computer has been down and still is, and couldn't wait to share.
So the party I threw on Monday night was a huge success
It took me all day, with some friends help, to transform Garfinkle's nightclub in to a white-wearing haven. Had over 300 people come out to support me, I played for just under 3 hours, and had the dancefloor movin' right til the end. The lights turned on and it was as if no one had noticed and everyone kept going.
This was supposed to be a one off thing, but, the club GM wants it to happen more than that. He tells me that he's a HARDCORE PUNK ROCKER, and he was dreading working my trance night... then goes on to tell me that he had no idea the following the music had and he'd be happy to have me play again NEXT WEEK!
So I'm ontop of the world right now and finally got some recognition from the clubs that people want to hear trance, and I'm the person to bring it to them. I musta shook about 100 hands and recieved 20 email addresses to send some shit to. I had people telling me that it was thier best night in Whistler and it needs to be done more often.
For all the time and effort I put into making this night happen, it was worth every second, and every penny
Don't know you but Contrats man, thats awesome to hear, but of been such a good feeling to be throwing something like that and have everything go well, when I come to Whistler, if your throwing one of these parties, I'll be sure to show up.
OUTSTANDING!
im very happy to hear this. remember to remind the gm that parties like this cant always go off awesomly every week, because u did have several weeks of promotion thrown into it, but if you space em out enough you can end up getting some killer nights going, with a following similar to the monthly rowing club parties in vancouver.
woot woot
sounds badass man
congrats kris, really good to hear this was a success
hopefully as the summer nears we could get a group of TAs to attend your party
yay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you could do it
way to go Kris
big ups
thats great to hear man. its good to hear one of our own making his way up the ladder!
Bravo Kris!
I am so glad to hear that show went well!
So there is a hope for this scene up at Whistler...
just a good promotion and its happening I guess
In any case congratulations and I hope many more events go well like this one

I got some wikkid photos of the night I gotta get off some cameras. Looking at the before and after photos of the club, it really was another place, and some of the videos show the place going off, it's so cool.
To be honest, my mixing wasn't that of PVD or anything, but most people don't even notice, I think it's just because I really get on myself about mixes having to be PERFECT!... but I guess they have to be if you want get somewhere.
Playing live is such a different experience, especially when using mixers I've never even seen before. Took some time to get used too, but I settled in and started nailing em.
When I talked to the manager, I told him that it would be best to wait about 2 weeks instead of weekly, this way it doesn't get so tired. I'm consistently getting people asking me when the next night is now. I can't go out without having to explain to people what the deal is. I kinda like it, hehe. I'll keep you all posted too
