Manager of the Season - EPL - 2004/5

short poll here, to see who the public think has done the best job with the resources available this year.

Blatantly obvious who i think

Posted by Ian on Mar-26-2005 14:20:

oh, and I've not included fergie or wenger as they've not won anything, won't win the league & have more spending power than most. Mourinho is in for his great belief that he has instilled into the players

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Mar-26-2005 17:35:

I voted for David Moyes, though Mourhino is doing a great job too. But look at what Moyes has done for Everton! Fighting relegation last year and now challenging (although slipping somewhat) for a CL birth...and all this after losing both Rooney and Gravesen.

My Vote goes to big Sam who's spent minimal ammounts (less than james beatties left foot for everton) & so on, and I think he's tactically superior to Moyes, having much less money to work with, what he's done is nothing short of a miracle, plus we still have 4th in a possible place

i am biased and think mclaren has done an amazing job for us considering everything that has happened, but other than him david moyes is the obvious choice.

i think morinho, even though he is a great manager, is in a bit of a joke situation having all that money which is detremental to his true skill as a manager.

money doesnt buy everything tho, look at real madrid lately, mourinho has instilled belief into the chelsea players, and told them that if they do as he said then they could win a lot, and tbh he was right. Agre e on Mclaren too, he's not half bad

Posted by noikeee on Mar-26-2005 19:20:

mourinho, tho i'm biased

i do agree the everton manager should get some recognisement, whatever his name is

and shouldn't we wait for the season to end for a poll like this?

Everton manager I think...It's not very hard IMO to win a championship when You're a Chelsea manager and have lot of great players on every position on the field. But Moyes made a great team without having such stars in his starting 11, so my vote goes for him. I hope Everton wil get this 4th place and will try to get to the Champions League.

mourinho aka the greatest

Where's the Souness option?

Posted by Irish Graham on Mar-27-2005 05:41:

you gotta give it to jose, even though im a man u fan you gotta love the man.He brings something else to the premiership i love his arrogance and his desire to win and he seems like hes one of the lads instesd of the manager.moyes has done a great job also lets all hope and pray that they can hold on for that last champions league place!!!

Got to go to Moyes i think. Mourinho has bought success whereas Moyes has done it through good management and a good team spirit. For a team that was expected to fight for relegation hes done so well

that's the same for allardyce but he had no money to do it with, cahill alone cost more than our squad, making what he's done better

Bolton finished alot higher then everton last season though didnt they? Got to the final of the Coca-cola cup asell last season, so this season's performance hasnt been a shock.

You really need to wait till the end of the season to vote. Moyes mightnt even make 4th place, and could even be surpassed by bolton.

Also, if Dowie keeps palace up, he will definitly be in with a shout for it.

as a bolton fan, it's not a surprise, but I think nobody expected us to move on from last seasons good finish, that we were 1 season wonders etc, so in a way it's a big job that he's not only equalled but bettered us in the league

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-29-2005 18:36:

Moyes no doubt ! if you voted for mourinho ...

Posted by tall paul 2 on Mar-30-2005 09:20:

I dont really understand why Dowie is in this. Crystal Palace have done OK, but theyre still one off bottom and Norwich or West Brom can and might still catch them. 3 people have voted so far, so maybe he is a contender, but i just think that if it wasnt for Johnson then theyd be rock bottom as hes scored something like 70% of their goals.

Posted by DRM on Apr-04-2005 22:48:

might be the blue half of liverpool but i have to go with moyes. To lose the two pretty much only decent players from the squad and have the team where they are is a great achievment. tho they wont be gettin 4th as the red half will take it

and ian, bolton are shite and so is allardyce!

Posted by TheVrk on Apr-08-2005 00:56:

GOTTA be Moyes in Everton

Posted by techno_freak on Apr-08-2005 04:17:

anyone, anyone!! except that dick head mourinho!!!

Posted by Sid on Apr-08-2005 09:22:

yeah tough between Allardyce and Moyes but have to say Moyes considering he lost his two most influential players in Graversen and Rooney. Will be interesting to see who secures the all important fourth spot. Liverpool seem to have a full head of steam after that brilliant performance against Juve, but who knows, Everton or Bolton could easily pull it off.

I'm surprised how little Everton got for Gravesen though. Something like 2.4 mil pounds only? Surely he's worth more than that.

But yeah, I think Moyes outshone Alladyce by small margin.

he only had 6 months left on his contract

Moyes for me, other than last season he has transformed a set of players into a very good unit who work as hard as any team.

Cahill has been the best signing this season too, absoloute quality.
