Another Space Sucks thread

All i have to say is that space can get the massive fucking cock.

got to pvd at around 12:30 last night only to find a huge fucking line and see that they weren't letting anyone in -- fire marshall was apparently inside. but the shittiest part was that we had those bullshit passes that apparently have zero worth and we were lumped in with peeps that had passes, tickets, and nothing at all...

we waited until about 1:45 in what was a giant amorphous line that took up half the block and not a single person was let in during that time (we even tried to grease the bouncers to no avail...)

finally, we decided to bounce and go see Zabiela and Desyn Masiello @ Spin but the night took an even shittier turn once we got there as none of the advertised dj's showed up. the bouncer told us about how fucked space/spin were that night and let us in for free and when we got upstairs we saw why: dj dakota (?) was spinning to a massive crowd of 3 people on the dancefloor and the club was a literal graveyard (pics of the 3 person dancefloor will be posted when i get back to ny).

if anyone knows how to get a portion of the space passes refunded please post here or let me know.

Luis can wipe my ass with his pass

umm............this is the wmc.....newsflash....lots of global clubbers in town......get there early and beat the lines...personally im glad they werent letting the masses inside, because the club was unusually comfortable. everyone had room to dance, and a fair amount of air to breathe. not trying to come off indifferent and unsympathetic, but if they pack that place so full all the time, and god forbid some accident occurs, it will make the rhode island incident look like a fairy tale.

No offense but...

Well, you sure coming off as unsympathetic. Plus, these people are already pissed off about their night being ruined so it's probably not a good idea to tell how good it was inside.

sucks man. i know, i was in that line. we also got there around 12:30, waiting in that horrible line until 2am, then we finally got in. then we were stuck in the opening room cuz the main room was closed off for another hour. even had to wait in line to get into the main room cuz the fire marshall was counting people. but eventually i got up on the terrace when sander came on and that was it. SANDER DROPPED IT SO HARD ALL NIGHT! i swear, i have NEVER heard a more banging set than sander threw down. i couldnt stop dancing the ENTIRE night. stayed until 9am, but still didnt want to leave. sander had me addicted.

it sucked getting in, but honestly, while i was actually inside space i had room to move the entire night. i wasnt a sardine in there like other years, and its because of the fire marshall. SO THANK YOU! i've never had more fun at space, and its all cuz of sander.

i saw pvd for about 2 hours as well when i got there. i thought he was throwing it down pretty hard. he made me remember why i used to love him so much. but still sander > pvd anyday!

well the reality is that the wmc is known for lines and the copius amounts of clubbers that comprise them. save yourself the inevitable anquish and leave your home early, and although i think it is unfair that some ticket holders didnt get in, it didnt come at the expense and safety of the clubbers who decided to save themselves the impending misery of showing up late. ignoring the fact that there would be a mob of people at the club in line causing random chaos and confusion, doesnt really constitute a sure fire vote in the sympathy department for me. nonetheless im sorry to all clubbers who didnt get in, their defintely should have been better orginazation and delegated employee responsibilites pertaining to club entry. ciao

That is sound advise, but the point is: space shouldn't be selling people passes that will not be redeemed. Brookyln Bridge, anyone?

You make it sound like Space didn't want you to get in. Trust me, if they could have everyone inside and be selling them alcohol, they would get everyone inside.

I wasn't there, but it sounds like a fuck up in that they let in too many non-pass holders, and then fire marshall started to exercise control. The FM doesnt give a crap if you have a pass, and space apparently doesnt give a crap if you get there late.

Luis Puig is a notorious asshole, but he is a notorious moneygrubber too. He wants you inside.

ummm..... i realize it's the wmc but when i shell out considerable change for a pass where the words "guaranteed entrance" and "no wait" are repeatedly plastered across it, i kinda expect to at least enter the freakin' venue. i guess my expectations are unreasonable...

not to defend space cuz i can honestly can tell u fuck space & there rules but its not there fault. Fire Marshalls by law have to abide by public safety regulations. if a building meets its capacity level they have to stop letting people in. I can tell u i had a horrible experience on thursday for tiesto. i arrived around 1230-1am. i was planning on getting there around 11 or so but ran super late. well i got there and waited for 2-21/2 hours b4 i got inside & made the best of the rest of the night. So friday i decided to be there around 1030pm. they had 2 seperate lines through the general admissions seperating the passport holders & pre-sale tix holders fomr the non tix holders. i didn't wait no more than 10 minutes if that maybe less.

exactly. word to the wise. during WMC arrive early to avoid headaches & fustrations at the lines. I tested that theory on fri for Pvd & got in fast w/ a pre-sale tix. unforturnately for those who like to come in late night, its more difficult to do it during wmc than it is during a reg night. other than that WMC this year was the best i've ever experienced.

If they had to abide by the law, then why werent they checking ID's of people. Not one ID was checked when i was going in and there were cops sitting right there.... Space can SUCK A DICK next year!!!

Man what you are saying is just ridiculous. People bought tickets a month in advance and could not get in to the club. The owners of Space obvisouly overbook the place and most of the time they get away with it. They did not this time and people that were sold ticket way before the conference started did not get in. I can show up anytime I want if I have the ticket and, for all practical purposes, my spot in the club should be there. It is because of people that think the way you think and that will still go to the club after they treat their customers that way that they are still in business.

umm. who's talking about law. Fire saftey issues. & if they weren't checking ID's whats the problem with that. What does that have to do with Fire Marshalls enforcing safety measures for the clubbers. let say it became crowded inside Space & god forbid something happens & the whole place needs to get evacuated & alot of people end up gettign hurt seriously while trying to exit the club with all the other franctic peeps. then what would u be posting.

(Say Fuck u Space for allowing all those peeps inside & not enforcing any type of safety issue??) COME ON...

Again not to defend Space cuz i will be the first one to say fuck Space & there rules, but if Fire Marshalls come to your place of business & find U have exceeded ur capacity level..... Guess what they can force u to stop allowing people to come in until they very well feel like its safe enough for the public to enter & if u refuse to cooperate.... guess what they can shut u down.

but some peeps don't see it that way. I've come to learn & if any verteran WMC clubber knows..... (GET TO ANY CLUB DURING WMC EARLY AS POSSIBLE. AT LEAST AROUND 10-11 THE LATEST)

I have to disagree with you as far as getting there early. I shoudl be able to get there anytime I want if I have tickets that I bought way in advance and it is still within the time the event is scheduled for. If they reached capacity and people with tickets are still out is because they sold more than they should. And as everyone here knows Space does not care about customer service or about safety and only about money. It is absolutely right that the Fire Marshalls do not let it exceed the capacity and they should not allow more people in if that is the case. Space oversell tickets all the time and try to get away with it but it did not happend this time. If people stopped going there due to not being right to the customers or because of not being safe then maybe they would change.

yeah but not if there are 150or more other people in front of you with a tix also. you will not get in that easily. sry to tell you that.
&

FYI: anyone who did not have any type of tix was not let in til l8r on that night. they were stuck in the line for a long time.

try saying that to a fire marshall. that u have a tix & u can get in whenever u want.

You are missing the point. The one doing wrong is Space by selling more tickets than they should and not the Fire Marshalls.

no i do. just messing with ya..

but it does overall suck ass big time.

again word to the wise. get to Space early to avoid any headaches & fustrations at the line. i got out of pvd on friday after about 10 hours of being there & there was at least 100 plus people waiting to get in with or without tix.
its good in a way for the crowd ctrl the fire marshalls had but again it sucked for those who wanted to get there late & party in the wee hours of the morning & couldn't get in.

If ur an afterhours person... its hard to get quick at that time. if not trust me get to the door by 11pm & u won't have to wait that long.

Posted by akkare on Mar-28-2005 19:23:

I got there at 10pm-ish, just to avoid this problem. Waited like 3 minutes in line too, total. I didn't mind going that early either since Edgar V is awesome and I only had seen him once before (at space). I'm definitely going to continue this trend of going early to clubs like Space during the WMC, since I'd rather be in the club waiting for a DJ than outside waiting in line and missing that DJ...

i can't beleive people will come in here and still defend Space after the clusterfuck this year.
maybe you dont know what happened:
- Space has a capacity of lets say 2500
- greedy assbag Luis Puig thinks he can pack 3500 in like sardines and get away with it like he did last year, so he allows more tickets to be sold then the place can hold.
- fire marshalls do their job and shut the place down on wednesday, then regulate capacity on thur & fri.

so who's wrong here?
the fire marshalls for doing there job?
ummmmm no
Space is wrong for overselling.

now you all know why Luis is the biggest dueschbag in all of Miami.
we got there at midnight (early enough) and didn't get in for 2 hours, i'm sure there were ticketholders behind us that never got in.

It does suck. Sometimes you never know. Case and point. I had pre-paid tickets for Spin on Wed. night. I arrived @ 8:00 to get the tickets but couldn't because they weren't ready. I was advised to come back at 9:30. I get there at 9:30 and wait for 45 minutes until these amateurs get themselves together. The list they had to verify pre-paid only had a confirmation number. They had no physical tickets. So, in reality, I could have said I bought 4 tickets and they would not have known.

If you used a credit card, you can put a stop payment on it. I would try to get Space to do at least a partial refund. If not, contact your credit card co. and stop payment, furthermore, if you used wanttickets.com or something, contact them as well. They may not get you a refund, but will let them know that Space has a problem when delivering what was promised.

Personally, if it isn't a WMC or M3 event, I don't get my hopes up. Use'em as a plan B.

I shouldn't worry too much about anything Mattivi says anyway. He didnt get a picture with Tiesto so already had a long old cry on the tiesto.com boards about that...

Its WMC you should EXPECT him to be busy ROFLMAO. Your own medicine back at you.

Shame on the PVD night Konijn, mate, i'm as glad as you are that you didnt have that problem on Tiesto @ Space!

phew
