Digital Video Cam reccomendations

just wanted some input. I'm planning on going on vacation to Spain for a couple weeks. I've already got a Canon D-Rebel/300D but i'd like to have a video cam as well. Any reccomendations for something less then 1K Cdn or $800U.S ???

I bought my mum the Sony DVD101 for Christmas, the thing is sick, can store 20 minutes of High Quality on a disc, or an hour of low quality, but the low quality is still really good, things got some good features aswell, I'd just recommend you use DVD-RW for it though.
