Sean Gallagher DOES play trance!

As witnessed by my own two ears last evening. Mr Sam - Forever Waiting and Solid Globe - North Pole! Quite shocking in fact but the crowd was def a trance crowd and he was only trying to play what they wanted.

Sorry Sean

HAHHAHAH I was on the floor when I saw this Greg. Your the best buddy!

Jordan you swore you would never tell!

Ellena, the crowd wanted trance? Believe it or not, there were 150 other people there dancing and they seemed to want and enjoy the house... I guess you didn't notice that since you were sitting there bored out of you mind pouting becuase you couldn't hear yout trancey-trance....hahahha.

And I played one trance track just for Neoh and he dissapeared!!!

Timur, sick track! Brilliant.

Thanks Mitch " kanadianiceman". Your so right, good music is good music.

To be honest I've been dying to play some of those records like Solid Globe - "North Pole" and "forever waiting" and whenever I get the chance I will.

The bottom line is that I'll play whatever the crowd wants and I enjoy all sorts of types of music. I play and enjoy funky house, breaks, house, acid jazz, prog, and even trance.

I find it odd that I can come out and have fun and enjoy myself at a trance night (even though I'm a house Dj) while some TA's not naming names (Ellena) start to cry when they hear anything other than trance.

Open your minds. Good music is good music and guess what? Trance spawned from HOUSE!

I thought it all started with Elecronic

Posted by Seany_G on Mar-29-2005 08:10:

Is that suppost to be a Joke Timur? I didn't get it?

The history of Trance 101:

It started with Disco.

Disco was only played in the underground of New York and Chicago in the early 80s and the only clubs that played this music were pretty much big warehouses.
The best club to hear and dance to this music was called the "Warehouse" in Chicago. Kids that would go to the club would swarm to the recordshop and ask the store for the music that was played @ the warehouse.

So the shop started labeling their tracks with "as played at the warehouse". This was eventually shortened to labeling sleves with "warehouse" and then later "house". Partiers were going in and asking for 'that house music'.

When drum machines started being used to create music similar to what we call 'house' today, the name 'house music' stuck and stood as the only kind of electronic music encompasing both the disco songs and the electronic songs. Then came Tech house or techno, then downtempo and THEN trance started to surface around the same time that DNB did, shortly after when breaks were brought over from the US rap scene.

Trance came from house. The only diff is BMP and the different melodies. Why do TA's have such a hard time enjoying anything under 135 BPM? Aside from a few guys like Tom, Timur, Caleb, Gavin, and Jordan, most TA's are boring as shit to go out with because if its not trance they won't have fun....

It's all the same! Good music is good music! Let go and have fun.

NO hard feelings. You seem to be an open minded type of guy that will have fun no matter whats playing...Youve come out to house nights and you and I have had fun. I caught you bobbing your head and smiling.

sean, i was just joking that night, i wasnt being serious. in fact if you did play trance, i'd probably give you a weird look cause it wouldnt have fit the night.

in my defense, i do enjoy some house, maybe not the booty shaking disco house, but prog is nice

oh and its ELENA! just one L is enough

Posted by Tayfoon on Mar-29-2005 08:17:

Im just joking Sean

Im bored

This is all i have

Posted by Seany_G on Mar-29-2005 08:20:

Same. I'm bored and haven't had a good house rant in a while haha.

It still is kinda lame to see people not enjoy themselves just beacuse their fav style of music isn't being played!

I play trance, prog, hard techno, techno, electro, tribal, funky house, euro house, industrial... whatever sounds good. we all throw off-genre songs into our sets because we think they are good and cool and will wake up the floor. Its what being a dj is all about.

kudos to the expanding minds.
