Posted by Matt Jay on Mar-28-2005 11:20:

Posted by Shakal on Mar-28-2005 11:24:

lol nicely summed up

Posted by nicknack on Mar-28-2005 11:31:

i think they look fuckin stupid, why would you wear something just because everybody else starts wearing it?!?!!

Posted by Philby on Mar-28-2005 11:39:

i dont mind baggy jeans but then when you start putting useless straps and stars and shit on it it just looks silly.

Posted by Shakal on Mar-28-2005 11:45:

If you've ever worn a pair I'm sure you agree they are probably the most comfy pair of pants out. Let people wear what they want, its not going to affect your night out at all.

Mikey au wears PHAT PANTS LOLOLLOLWTFBBBQ!!!!!

Posted by 00soups00 on Mar-28-2005 12:09:

they look ridiculous..

what is the whole thing behind them??

i mean, sure the ones with reflectors reflect the light (ala Mirror Vest) -hmmm Maybe Mirrored Phat Pants are a new avenue that could be explored, but what about the phat pants that have no reflectors or anything on them??

whats the go with them

also, the reflector ones can be ludicrously expensive...

then again.. maybe im wrong and they are cool

Posted by sLiCk_NiCk on Mar-28-2005 12:14:

snoups i guess the ones with out reflector things are for comfort when dancing coz im guessing u get more leg room. i dont mind them and i dont mind people wearing them but its just not for me. i was thinking bout investing in some coz my balls are dropping at a rapid rate but other then that no thanks.

You are correct, and I see nothing wrong with wearing them.

Look I can understand if you don't like them, thats fine. Just leave them alone.

We could say the same thing about anything that people wear out these days, please don't get me started on pink polo shirts and then the ones that always have the collars up....

We live in a society where people do many things different ways, learn to live with it please

And Rightly sO!

Don't get me wrong, I really don't give a shit what people want to wear, but we are just trying to understand the resoning behind them. Form or Function? I'm sure they're comfortable to dance in but also wearing a diaper/nappy would also be comfortable, plus you can get the ones for seniors that you can piss in and then you wouldn't have to go to the toilet and miss precious happy hardcore moments.

Posted by Timski on Mar-28-2005 13:07:

I personally dont have anything against the phatties... I used to rock a pair in my full raver days... the ones i wear now are still "phat" just not as full on more a comfort/cooling issue now... besides there still massive in the rave scene so i just leave them.

Now i just find it funny to watch all the colourful little ravers... talking about the glory days of 6 months ago... up there with the muzza's as something to have a bit of a laugh at.

haha , now imagine what people would say if you rocked up in one of those grandma baggy nappies?

I have an older pair of more "dulled" down phatties that I wear around the house and the pair I wear out look pretty cool in the lights.

I used to wear massive pants back in my raving days. 5,6 years ago, I was all about big pants. The bigger, the better. It wasn't all about the reflectors, or cartoon characters stitched on the side for me, but size was definately the way to go. I remember my biggest pair flared out to 36" on the bottom, that was freacking bigger than my waist! I could stick 2 soccer balls up each leg while wearing them, and a full sega genesis system with 4 games & boxes or 6 rented videos in the back pockets. They were huge. But since raving is no longer cool, I've taken it down to a modest 22". there's nothing wrong with them, I just got tired of flapping in the breeze when I was walking down the street.

i guess reflectors doesn't serve any purpose except for accessorising. and i don't think you can wear them in broad daylight without people giving you nasty look. if we're talking functionality, phats are more comfy to dance in, yes, but only when they were made with lighter material, especially when you dance a lot. lots of pockets are useful to store mobiles and what nots. nothing wrong with wearing normal jeans except they can be really sweaty sometimes.

some girls do look hot especially when they dance very well in them .. shame that almost none does..

Yeah, definately a better experience to dance in. Especially if you're going for long periods of time. The extra room combined with the movement of dancing creates a cooling effect making it easier on the joints. However, heavier materials come in handy in colder climates [ie Canada at -10 in january] as they'll keep you warmer when you're in line.

And as for girls looking good in those pants. Oh yeah...Very nice look if the girl know how to dance.

i love my phatties. easy to dance in and i don't have to carry a stupid handbag around all night cause everything fits in the pockets!
