ohh, UHH...

I think I need a towel.

Posted by Axolotyl on Apr-01-2005 06:25:

What are they going to do with 8 turntables for christs sake? Not to mention the 3 cd players.

Sweet bejesus... tis a silly place...

Posted by Nemesis44 on Apr-01-2005 08:08:

The decks are conected to different mixers so depending on the DJ's preference he/she will use different decks. (I know it's stating the obvious he he).
They have both rotary (Urei) mixers and more traditional mixers.

In my experience one thing that tends to screw up younger DJs is the positioning of the decks, but I actually quite like working that way. Feels a bit more professional... don't ask me why.

Cheers

the booth at the ministry has changed now, dont know when, but when i was there for the competition they let us up there to have a look and its had a bit of a revamp.

Theres now only 4 techs, along with 4 CDJ1000s, a Xone 92 and a V6!

Its set up with a deck on the left of the 92 with 3 on the right and the V6 infront of the middle of the three. There are CDJs above every deck mounted on brackets.

Its fecking sweet! all the music sources are plugged into both mixers AND each source has its own A&H filter unit!!!

Just wish they'd let us use that set up!

I think thats the first time I've seen sldz1200's in a booth.

Posted by Zack Roth on Apr-01-2005 19:32:

actually lookign at it again, that booth would annoy me. I don't like teh fact that teh cd players are way off to the side and that the mixer's eqs are beside it and not above or below. I like symatry in a booth.

i agree but it looks like there is another mixer at that end? maybe thats just for the cd's?

anyway i don't know where that booth is.....but if i just had vinyl with me it would be very fun!

I've played that, and all the other booths there

when I was on it, it had four techs and two sets of stantons with the carts out and the tone arms in the air at the end, they had them for sponsorship or something.

Unseen is the fridge, a vital addition to any booth

it was one of thouse red letter day things I'm not a closet big name<<< so tempted to not add that

EDIT:When set high your eyeballs actually vibrate with the pressure difference of the music, you can actually see the beat. Funky ehh?

sure looks great, but ergonomically horrible? I mean in the long run you'll probably get back pain after leaning over the mixers all the time..

Posted by DJ_Ikronix on Apr-01-2005 23:56:

They're all nice...but...

...no love for the turntablists...

Leaning over the mixers to get to the decks is a bitch, they are miles away and on springs so when you press down on them with your outstreched hand trying to control a record it gets a bit weird cos the springs are quite light. The table kinda buckles down trying to get away from you slimmy little buuger. Means you have to lean over even more which is a c*nt.

Would realy hate to be very short when djing their. You would have to stand on a crate or something

Posted by bass.exe on Apr-02-2005 13:38:

the nicest booth I've used.. Club Ageha, tokyo. the sound system is also ridiculous with 38 of those massive orange speakers hanging from the ceiling all around the dancefloor.

Posted by T-Soma on Apr-02-2005 14:12:

Ummm... theirs a problem with that pic
