Its All Gone Pete Tong
Its All Gone Pete Tong is a comedy following the tragic life of legendary Frankie Wilde. The story takes us through Frankie's life from one of the best DJ's alive, through subsequent battle with a hearing disorder, culminating in his mysterious disappearance from the scene. A genius in his own right, he clawed his way to the top of the DJ ranks, now living the opulent life of a superstar, he resides in his trophy villa in Ibiza with his trophy wife. This is when tragedy hits. Born with a hearing disorder he is rapidly going deaf with only one functioning ear to complete the new Ibiza season. How is he doing behind the decks? Horrible. How is he doing in the studio where he produces his remixes? Frankie dives into a low period, struggling with deafness in utter depression. After a year of locking himself away he emerges on the other side with a fresh attitude towards his affliction. He accepts his deafness and learns to function without sound. Will Frankie make it back to the DJ booth? Will his new single be any good? Will he get back his opulent old life or does he even want it back? When you can't hear, things look very different.

Its weird....in the April/May Cinema du Parc Paper, its supposed to be opening this month, man I've been waiting too long for this!!!!
The movie is great! And the fact that it is a true story is even better!
Mate, its a mockumentary!!!!
Which Theater(s) is it gonna play in Toronto, I 'm having a hard time getting answers on the net.
I've been reading different reviews about the film. It pretty much get high marks, which is good.
"NEW YORK -- A Canadian "mockumentary" that won't give Christopher Guest any cause for concern, "It's All Gone Pete Tong" purports to tell the story of legendary DJ Frankie Wilde, whose riches-to-rags story is summed up in the title, Cockney slang (based on another real-life DJ, one of this film's executive producers) for events going horribly wrong. Having garnered festival awards, the film, directed by Michael Dowse, is playing in New York and opens Friday in Los Angeles.
British comedian Paul Kaye plays the central character, a renowned DJ living the high life while working the club circuit on the glamorous island of Ibiza. Partying every night with a succession of beautiful babes and enough cocaine to make Tony Montana squirm, Frankie finds his life and career turned upside down when he begins to realize that years of exposure to eardrum-rattling music is making him deaf. He's suddenly forced to re-evaluate his priorities and begins to get his life in order, thanks to a romance with a beautiful deaf woman who teaches him how to read lips.
This tale of redemption is told in faux-documentary fashion, complete with talking-head interviews with figures both fictional and real, the latter including such music scene notables as Paul Van Dyke and Tong himself. There are also fanciful sequences, most notably those depicting Frankie's drug-induced hallucinations involving a cocaine-snorting giant badger.
While the film provides a fairly insightful and realistic portrait of the club music scene -- the soundtrack is a keeper -- it lacks the genuine wit to elevate it to a truly satirical level. Kaye (best known for his "Dennis Pennis" character on the BBC) delivers a frequently hilarious and ultimately even moving turn as the ill-fated DJ, but the film's jarring shifts in tone and lack of cohesiveness detract from his efforts. While connoisseurs of its milieu will appreciate it, "It's All Gone Pete Tong" lacks the universality to break out of its niche audience."" (Courtesy of hollywoodreporter.com, by: Frank Scheck)
