Thread Quality Control

Yes, it has come to this.

The purpose of this thread is to help you cor whore peons figure out how to post interesting topics for a change. This is not a problem for all of you, but it's a problem for enough of you that I've arbitrarily decided that it is my sacred duty to provide some examples of how to evaluate the quality of threads in the hopes that some of you may use this information to post higher quality threads in the future. Although I have serious doubts about the ability of most of you to comprehend, interpret, and apply information of any kind, this will, if nothing else, afford me the opportunity to rant about some of the more abysmal threads that have afflicted this forum as of late. So, without further ado, let's take a critical look at some recently active threads:

Title: STEPHEN KINGS "IT" - the book
Author: R.j.
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255695
I would have assumed that interesting discussions about literature would be beyond the ability of most COR regulars. And from the looks of this thread, I would have been right. I'm not fluent in moron, but unless my translator is mistaken I'd suggest you get your mind out of the gutter, literally, ghetto-boy.
Grade: F

Title: got lucky on a bad luck day
Author: SoBerFree
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255725
This is a particularly disturbing example of a common type of cor thread which is best described as a random, pointless statement about an individual's day or what they happen to be doing at the moment with no apparent point, conclusion, or topic for discussion. The author of this thread apparently fails to realize that nobody gives a shit about his gambling problem or his private relationships with prostitutes. This thread provides nothing to discuss and is a shameful waste of forum space. Here's hoping he ends up with AIDS.
Grade: F

Title: if i die
Author: Vivid Boy
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255716
I generally enjoy Vivid Boy's posts, but this one just falls flat. It's neither especially interesting nor entertaining, and we've all heard this a thousand times before. Still, it isn't particularly offensive in any way, and it does communicate a message of perhaps some interest to the members of the forum. So it could be worse.
Grade: D

Title: A dude just walked into my room.
Author: Boomer187
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255737
This thread describes a rather amusing anecdote and invites members to speculate as to what exactly is going on. As a result, some entertainment value is present and a topic for discussion is evident. It isn't the most outstanding thread, but if this represented the typical thread I wouldn't be here talking down to all of you like I'm some kind of authority.
Grade: B

Title: recomend me some movies
Author: vswede
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255724
This thread is a request for information which could easily have been obtained with the search function. As a result, it is redundant and a waste of space, providing no benefit to the forum that was not already present and generally contributing to useless clutter on the front page.
Grade: F

Title: WTF? Dog with a knife in its head... Attention: NSFW
Author: djxtension
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255681
I'm so glad that the author of this thread decided to share this tasteful and interesting image with everyone here. It really contributes positively to the forum, and I know that I'd really be missing out on something if I'd never seen this. Honestly, I don't know what drain pipe some of you sick pieces of shit oozed up from, but feel free to keep this kind of disgusting imagery to yourselves in the future. If anyone deserves a knife in their head, it's the demented fucks who distribute these images all over the internet.
Grade: F

Title: guess who's back..... back again
Author: D-res
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255522
Nobody noticed you were gone to begin with, but if this thread is an example of the type of posts we can expect from you D-res, then I for one would prefer that you stay far away. Plenty of people around here take time off from the forums from time to time, either because they are especially busy or because they've grown tired of shitty threads like this specimen, and most of them don't feel the need to announce their triumphant return as if somebody would care when most people didn't know they were gone in the first place. That's a good thing. "I'm back" threads are not.
Grade: F

Title: Hospitals Suck! Im Back!
Author: Jackson
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255692
Uh oh, another "I'm back" thread. This one, however, I deem acceptable as Jackson has previously posted regarding his unfortunate medical condition and it is reasonable to assume that other forum members may have some measure of concern for him and would therefore be interested in this update on his situation.
Grade: B-

Title: Wtf?
Author: guster
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=255673
I'll be honest: I didn't click the link, so I'm in no position to comment on how interesting or uninteresting it was. The reason I didn't click on the link is because nobody gave me a good reason to. The author of this thread has provided no specific information on what it is that I am going to see if I click on the link, and therefore I have no reason to believe it is anything that I have any interest in seeing. "Haha" or "wtf" and a link doesn't make for a good thread. If the link has something worth talking about, I can only assume you would have had more to say about it yourself. If it doesn't, post it in the humor section, not the general discussion forum.
Grade:F

Title: Thread Quality Control
Author: Arbiter
Link: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...5750&forumid=16
This thread is great. It's fun and educational. It has lots of fancy vB code formatting without any of the overdone emote spam which has plagued the forums as of late. I want to be just like the author of this thread when I grow up.
Grade:A+

Well, that's a start. It seems that reading you people's boring threads has cured my insomnia. Now post some more interesting threads for me to read when I wake up.
