New track! Ben Acosta - Sanguine! Feed back welcomed!
Whats up peeps, here is my newest offering. An epic trance track, with a gritty bassline, a layer of sidechaining sub-bassline, and supersaw leads, and a small piano melody for good measure. I'd love to get this track to a professional level, so any feed back is much appeciated!
Here it is, hope you enjoy
Ben Acosta - Sanguine (8:03) 256 kbps
anyone?

Okay dude, don't take this harshly, but this sounds more like one of the tunes from the old NES game Godzilla. Sounds nothing like Epic Trance to me, but then again, knowing my open-mindedness...
You have every right to your opinion. I personally don't think it sounds like an NES game. What parts do you think sound video game-ish? Maybe I can fix that.

DA, will do, that's why i bumped it. And I don't take it as a hit on my personallity if you don't like it.
Greg, no I made it with Reason.
Reason!
Fruity rules all!!
, just joking. Without any VSTs or effects for Fruity, Reason would work better.
I have to be honest and say there is 1 major problem that needs to be fixed first. This track is not in any key. Your bassline usually starts with/ends up on 1 single note which the rest of the song is centered around. Lets say it is A, so the scale for A minor (95% of trance/prog is in a minor key) would be A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Maybe start with a single note bassline at first just to get the rest of it right. Google for the minor key scales.
Some of the percussion and synths are better than what you had done before, so thats good, but until you get the bass and melodies to work together in key I can't say too much else. Some of the ideas in here might work good, but if its not in key its tough to tell.
Thanks for the helpful reply Jeff!
It's not in key, but that should be easy to fix. I'm glad you caught on to that. (btw here is a great site for chords and scales (http://www.pianoworld.com/fun/vpc/piano_chords.htm)
And yes I really did use Fruity. I was joking when I said I used Reason.
