I didn't want to be cliche and post another girl thread... But what the hell.... Here it goes.
I'm in a kind of fucked up situation.
Last night a girl calls my friend to hang out. I didn't know if the details if he was trying to hook up with her or not, but this was my first meeting her and she was really suprisingly hot. The friends that she was with weren't so much, but she was... And why the hell do hot girls like to have ugly friends, to make themselves look better? Blah, that's another thread.
But anyway, to cut a long story short, in the first few minutes I didn't really know what she thought of me or whatever, I thought she was looking at me kind of funny but that could've just been the state of mind I was in (we started to drink early).
So this girl he brought us to meet starts talking to me. And a few minutes into the converstation she starts to feel on my leg under my shorts with her fingernails and etc. It happened more than once. I thought, what the fuck? Is she making a pass at me in front of my friend that she's talking to? Even though she tried to make it not "too" noticable, I'm pretty sure he noticed. She wasn't exactly very slick about it. When she wasn't around I asked him what was up between them and he just shrugged it off. When another friend asked if he fucked her he sais he didn't, but who knows (don't know why he would deny it, she's hot).
When I asked what they were doing later she invited us to dinner with her and even later when we all started drinking, I kept talking to her and she kept flirting with me (putting her hand on my lap, etc).. She drank a bit too much, and was fucked up so she asks if I want to walk her out, I do, and her and her friend leave.
I think she was something like an x-girlfriend to him or something, but I asked if she was single and she gave me a "yes" like she was interested. Yea yea, x-girlfriends are off limit. But I kinda dig her and want to hang with her again, even if it is as friends or something.
I didn't get her number or anything because I didn't know how that would look to my friend, and since it is kinda his x-girlfriend for fucks sake. I haven't spoken to my friend about it and I don't want to make him feel like I'm trying to steal his chicks because even though people act like they don't care, you never know. I have a friend who fucked another of my friends x-girlfriend and they don't really get along anymore, so I don't know where to take this..

i'd talk it over with him first, nothing better than a direct approach to the situation, don't beat around the bush
depending on his answer and your own personal feelings you may make the following decision.
he says go for it - you go for it
he says he's uncomfortable - you decide whether his friendship or some grade a pussy is more suitable for you
only advice i have on that aspect is that good friends are hard to find while there is plenty of grade a pussy to find, and since one is interested basically others will be interested too
maybe this should give you some self-confidence to go talk to other hotties instead of waiting for your friends to bring some around.

it really depends on how long he dated her, how many gf's he's had, etc.
although my gut is if he's still friends with the girl after he dated her, it shouldn't be that big of a deal if you go out with her, b/c he obviously doesn't mind her being around.

look, firstly you HAVE TO find out what the deal is between him and her.
is she his fukin x or not?

if its not his X and just some chick he liked. Discuss that you like her too and may the best man win. He might be bitter, but he knows the rules.

there are very few instances whereby (imo) you can go out out with a friend's ex
one is the situation whereby relationships in a group of friends chop and change and just become the norm - i call these "incestrual (sp?) groups" so basically chopping and changing is widely accepted
another is when the breakup between the friend and the x is instigated by the friend who is already with someone else... even still i'd consider that a pretty damn touchy situation
i personally wouldn't do it - wouldnt want to risk ruining a friendship for a girl who i may get bored with in 2 months
then again... i have a habit of getting bored in relationships
