amazing percs and drive, which deserves a better synthwork IMO

this track could sound awesome if you made those strings less dry and fatter sounding, and improved some of the synths !

I second that! The percs are good mate! And by the way I love the bassdrive in the song. It really pulsates, maybe a bit to heavy but really nice. But the strings and synths need some work, they make my mouth dry

Cheers,

Nice percs
The offbeat bassline goes with the fact that the original track is from the 90s

The intro could use a nice melody or chord change or something.

Pad is a little thin.. not too bad, though..

Don't use that robot voice.. it's been used 1000 times in other tracks.
The yelp could use some reverb (that's from the original if I remember correctly)

Break is dragging on kind of long.. and could use some fx or a something..

The pad and lead could use some reverb and delay

General mastering isn't too bad.. could use some compression on teh track.. but there is no distortion and the hats are at the right level

I like the acidey thing at 7:00.. but that too could use some FX and EQing

At 7:20, i'm sort of getting bored of the track.. and want to skip to the end..

nice work on this classic, mate!
i agree with the others, your percs are, as always, awesome!
some more power behind the synths and this remix is kicking asses!!!

Hey Man

Nice remix - percussion is very good, and bassline is ok. I think you need some FX on those voices, like reverb. synths are pretty cool, but the main string is quite thin.
SOunds good when it all comes together.

Well done... I like it....

hey man
as said before, great drive, i love the electro voice, and i really love that classic "WHA" voice lol fantastic

overall very electro
i like the break a lot, but when it all hits its just the regular melody with the saw sounds, could be a little better i think
anyways good attempt

very nice indeed
it sounds so far, but would be nice to hear it coated in a "gem".

Synth at 1.15 is killer. This is the treatment a MIKE track deserves! Well done on that part.

Not a fan of the synth at the 4 min mark. Tone and FX wise it sounds alright but it just comes in a little thin and the melody that it forms at 5.20 just doesnt do it for me.

Percs are really good etc.

The yelp voice I dont like so much though. Is it from the original?

Otherwise, a decent track. Sounds pretty tight. Kinda still feels a bit MIKE/push but definately has its own character which is imporant with a remix I think.

=)

thank u everybody... appreciate the feedback..

i agreed on the synths.. they sound kinda rusty.. cant really do better atm... i dont want to overwork on the track u know, its all about coming up with things fast.. and keep them.. so the track doesnt sound so overproduced ..

and yeh.. i shamelessly sampled the voice straight from the original mix..

Good sound
Excellent percussian
Lousy melodies
Boring overall

Those percussians deserves better synthwork dude ! And add some FX'n in your transitions

wow hardcore electro. robotic repetative percs.
1.14 turn that poly synth sound UP. it's funky.
1.55 layer added. mids.
2.22 .....
3.30 building up. What is that d00d saying? Sound like one of the bad guys in half life 2.
4.15 uplifting..... bring on the bass drum .... 4.40 sweet!!!
The main rhyme is great. Could do with some more phasing (im addicted to phasing shit - its just me) Maybe filter it with something...
5.22 LOL a new layer goes skitzo. Not sure I like that

7.15 Great change right there!!!
7.47 snare drum roll moves the song on nicely.

its an 'OK' remix. great work Subtle

i told you what i think about it...
nice try

Posted by Mycron on Apr-07-2005 13:49:

that arp in the buildup sounds a bit weird for me, but its just personal preference, otherwise not bad, i like the percussions, sounds really good, although the whole production sounds a bit dry to me, especially the synths, i feel the breakdown is a bit too long, you should reduce it or fill up with something, i like the effects you used, those are spot on, i feel the track lose a lot of energy in the breakdown somehow, the climax is not that powerful as it should be, the structure is good, but the drive is gone...
although, not bad remix, but i expected more creativity, on the melody side...
overall, i like what you've done, however, i prefer your Twixt remix, though

keep up the good work, mate

Peter

Hey,
Listening .... Drums are sweet, I like specially the Snare, the first part is a bit monotone for me, but when the pad comes with the breakdown becomes very cool, I liked a lot those chords and above all 5:14 part, I think the pads could be a bit fatter but that's just my opinion .
In overall is a great tune mate, I like it, it has sort of a nostalgic feeling .
Kopi =o.

thx Xeno, Kopi, Pete, Drow, pea...

looks like i really need to work on those synthesizer sounds

The Percs are awesome, you use FLStudio right Subtle? I can't get my kick drum to sound that good. I like it, good stuff man.

Posted by cybernetica on Jun-10-2005 08:41:

Nice, you got those percussion right.
I dig those slightly Psy FXes, the panning is trippy. Cool 303 type synth then.
I hear its a really well produced tune when all the layers of pads and melody come in. Everything is audible and clean, like its supposed to be.
The ending is quite trippy, nice.

I dont really have complaints. Maybe a hi LFOed arpeggio synth could add more depths to the tune. Other than that, sweet tune!

nice remix man perc is good as the others said. im not a fan of the lead and that short synth melody. anyway good job on this great classic

Posted by J.L. on Jun-14-2005 16:47:

overall, i feel this track could feel tighter in terms of percussion...

as everyone else said, there could be some more better lead work on it...

otherwise, it's a mint track
