Trance Night in Leeds!!!

I think someone has already pointed out that there is not ANY decent trance night on in Leeds . I'm thinking about setting up a night dedicated to trance, and was just wondering if any other trance DJs would be willing to help me with it, or if there is anyone in Leeds who would come to a regular trance night if there was one!!!! I mean Leeds is a big city there must be some demand for the good stuff surely

i'm surprised theres nothing in Leeds, from what i hear its one of the best clubbing cities in England!

There's loads of clubs with a variety of different genres, but sadly no regular trance night that is worth going to. Some of the people ive spoke to say the reason there is nothing in leeds is because 'leeds is to cool for trance', said sincerely and with a straight face!!!

if you have a good veriaty of the stuff, maybe a bit of psytrance/techtrance/progtrance flavours mixed in too i would consider it, not just a night where you have a bunch of markus shulz imitators for the first half and a bunch of armin imitators for the second half.

what club you thinking of using?

and ive noticed more recently leeds is going down the funky house way, as well as the anoying chavs, was in a few bars after work with the girllfriend and them dam stripy jumpers and girls with gelled hair were everywere

Look at it if you will as a 'Trance R US', all different styles of trance all under one roof!!! Thats why i'm looking for other DJs that play trance (whatever kind that may be) who would be interested in helping me set something up! As for the club, i really have no idea (no time at the mo due to final year exams which finish end of may!) its just something that recently ive been thinking about whlist living in leeds, i just wanted to see the kind of feedback i'd get

I'd have an interest in coming to this night seeing as I should be moving to Leeds soon (Uni)

So I'll be up in september and would like some kind of trance night to go to

I'm no DJ but i'd gladly show my face and show some support for the night

it is a good idea in theory, coz your right there isnt really any trance in leeds. i mean the only night i can think of is cabbage and thats a psy trance night.

I've been to evo a few times and unless I'm absolutely pissed out of my head I just stand there and think what oh what has happened to this great country of ours!

Dunno

Ive heard that trance is sometimes played at evo, but its proper cheese (of the extra mature stilton variety) on toast!! AND full of chavs!! I really dont understand why there doesnt seem to be a DEMAND for a quality trance night.

maybe you should think about why any past trance nights in leeds no longer exist

I think its just how the general trend has gone. Around 2000 ish everyone who liked goin clubbin went to places like Cream or Gatecrasher but now its all breaks or techno or funky house (not NOT Hed Kandi tho!! Thats for chavs!) that people like to go to. Trance is seen as a bit cheesy and I just don think there are the numbers to go to a trance night that isn't gonna have famous DJs there...

same goes for anywhere
you're not going to pull anyone in without big names, and you won't be able to afford them
give it up

Leeds has defo gone down the funky house way, and as nice as a decent trance nite will be, I cant see it happening (unless i win lottery and i will then bank roll it!)

the majority of trance followers/clubbers are sheep and will only batter and eye if its tiesto or armin for example (i mean, look at the threads i nthis forum, most night that non-promoters post threads and get excited about are just lumps of the usual suspects). then you have a problem of getting people out. you can pay a grand or 500 for a semi big name but you will probs get much less of a return crowd wise, probably mainly just give your night a bit more credibility.
