Noise Cancelling Headphones

After my old (cheap) pair are on their last legs, I've decided that I'm going to save for some noise cancelling ones, esp for airplane journeys etc, but i'm not sure what to look for, i've found a few on kelkoo but wanted opinions from people

Shure - E2c's

they are supposed to be mint, and if u can afford there are higher models that go up towards �300 i think. Only thing people complain about is the fact they hurt some peoples ears, but if ur ears are usually fine with in-ear headphones im "shure" they will be fine.

alternatively if u want full size headphones then to be fair i dont think u could go far wrong with the sennheiser hd25's. since u are gonna be listening to mainly dance music anyway then i reckon these would serve u well, just depends how much walking around ur gonna be doing with them on.

i'd prefer headphones tbh I dont mind wearing, and in ear ones hurt me after a while. The philips ones look nice as they fold down, aren't too expensive & Have a non huge head strap too

just buy some mdrv700s and turn the volume up, i cant hear fuck all when i use them for music or games.

or wot ste said. most these new headphones that say they are noise cancelling are just bollox. its just the new gimmick to sell them. The shure ones i showed and its bigger brothers are proper noise cancelling headphones.

I think im gonna look at stuff like that, I found that my technics ones were awfully poor last time, couldn't hear a thing above the plane engine, and we were near the front a way from it.

Well, I've got the Shure E2c earbuds and I think they're great. I had the Sony MDREX 71SLB before, but they broke and the E2cs sound better than them. The E2cs have sound insulation as the earbuds form a seal in your ear canal. You can't have a conversation at normal volume when wearing them (no music playing). I can wear them for hours without hurting my ears. The E2cs come with three rubber and three foam fittings S M and L sizes.

Obviously it's up to you whether to buy earbuds or large headphones, but I prefer the earbuds as they fit in my pocket and are unobtrusive. I got my E2cs from www.dabs.com, which I think is the cheapest in the UK at �60.

mike, hd25 is for djing, and doesnt do the job as far as cancelling noise goes (well, atleast not if you have giant ears like certain people)
