Best mix? F.S.O.L - Papua New Guinea
What is the best mix of Papua New Guinea? At the moment i'm quite partial to the Hybrid one, but really haven't heard many apart from Marco V's.
original!!!!
Andrew weatherall does a good one too, its on the original 12"
definately hybrid for me to.
- Original, especially the long album version.
- Hybrid Remix
- Satoshi Tomiie Main Path, if you're into deeper prog.
- Papsico (aka Translation 2), on FSOL's Papua New Guinea Translations album, FSOL's own moody jazz influenced take on the track
- Oil Funk Dub, a chopped up breaks remix
- Mellow Magic Maze Mix, a groovier breaks mix with a huge rock influence
- Andrew Weatherall Mix, very different, lengthy epic journey
original
I never did grow a liking to this song but I have only heard the Original, maybe I will check out some of the other remixes.
if you like deep prog, like The Baguio track, check out Satoshi Tomaii's main path version. Both are the same style.
Thanks lads, i'll check some of these out!
the original is great, but too damn short IMO. marco v remix rocks IMO and i'd say it's probablt the best version i've heard
Satoshi Tomiie's Main Path mix is probably my fav after the Original Mix. Hybrid's remix comes third.
oh and according to some word of mouth, the qube mix is the best (dont expect to find it fellas)
1 Papua New Guinea (Ferry Corsten 1999 Remix)

difference is in the cat number:
PIN12TOT17 is the one with the qube mix (I have that somewhere too i am sure)
PIN12TOT17R is the one I posted.....
Easy to confuse the two !

hybrid, satoshi tomiie, and High Contrast mix..they all rock!

The original will always be the best, but the Papsico Translation, Andrew Weatherall Remix and Journey to The Pyramid mixes are brilliant. They just don't touch the original. But then again, nothing does.
