Hire Vuzz out

Posted by Rick D on Apr-05-2005 17:58:

i'd be up for it, although i think as ste said yesterday UKTA aint what it used to be, or at least london TA isn't, there's too many peeps with better things to do now unfortunately

Long live the legacy of UKTA

I very much doubt this will happen. There aren't enough people who post regularly here to fill a club unfortunately.

Posted by Ste on Apr-05-2005 18:30:

if you did it you would probably have to let randoms in as well as people from TA, although a lot of venues can be hired for your own purposes especially in weekdays. even Zero can be hired for private functions i think!

Zero would be class, soundsystem is sorted when cranked up.

id imagine its expesnive to hire out though, and it would probably be a week night which would restrict people attending anyway

i can't imagine anywhere with a capacity of 250 or less charging much more than 50 quid as long as it's booked well in advance, ie. looking ahead at least 4-6 months

Not that'll be going (too far to travel). But you recon 50 for a club? Seriously, even for 250- it seems cheap?

I dunno I've not got experiance actaully doing it but I thought about making a night with a mate and 50 wouldn't cover the bouncers (normally required) nevermind the bar staff never mind the actual hiring (though maybe thats all you ment, but if you take a certain amount at the bar then you get it gratis normally 500-800 over the bar I belive).

if you find a venue that is normally shut on a particular date or only used for private functions is is a lot cheaper, or if you do book miles in advance (which you should be doing anyway).

even so, 300 quid ain't a lot of money, you only need 100 people through the door paying 3 quid, which is pretty acceptable on a weekend if its close enough to city centre, plus you are all rich bastards down south anyway lol.

bouncers are generally hired through an agency to protect the bar + staff, and would be covered through the bar, not you paying for them. also the bar would more than likely offer free drinks which you could subtract from the booking amount.

i could get somewhere in newcastle for next to 0 or next to 0, but how many people would be prepared to travel up here...

from organising the Inspiration charity event, Sundays or a week night are usually your best bet. Fridays & Saturday they hike up the prices. But id be interested in travelling up

yeh but its a double edged sword, it would be easy to get 100 people on a sat/fri but the prices woudl obviously be higher and getting a pla ce on fi/sat is usually harder as most places have well established nights + most certaionly wouldnt wanna gamble with trance considering the current state of play.
